Why do Americans never support their own in boxing?

It does seem compared to other countries that we don't have an inferiority complex that forces us to unrealistically prop up fighters and athletes due to misguided nationalism or patriotism. Due to this, we probably don't support our own as much as other countries do, but it's all hard to say. We have so great deal of American boxers that we don't need to ride our coat tails on one the way other countries seem to do. Again, that's just the perception from an American viewpoint.

 

well first off america is huge. boxing isnt promoted enough where im from alotta people dont even no who the klitsckos are or even manny pac.

theres alot of us were not all alike so theres alot of love/hate. mayweather gets support . n even if ur a hater u still support by buying ppv or by watching.

america has so many athletes as well. its not like were the phillipines and only having one major athlete n when he fights the whole crim rate goes down because everyone is watching. its just that we only have one in boxing, besides that we got freak athletes that ply in the nba an nfl, more people are down for hockey where im from
