gotta go with my man Roldan. With all the tricks he knows plus he had the best trainer in the business. Too many guns, too much power. Barkley bravely hangs on till the 8th when hiz corner throwz in the towel

This is a good fight for Barkley but Roldan can punch. It would be wild that is for sure. I just think Barkley has the better overall chin and punched hard. I would say Barkley in in 6th round war. Roldan was good. I still remember the Kinchen fight. Kinchen was a good contender in 1987 and Roldan demolished him on the Leonard/Hagler undercard. If he had his way he could be tough. The only weakness I saw was if he was hit hard he had a tendency to go down and want to stay down.

A classic punchfest...for the short time it lasts. As mentioned previously, Roldan has too many guns, too much power. Barkley is there to be hit.

the only thing I question is not the chin of Roldan as much as his heart at times. With both Hearns and Hagler he was dropped and he almost looked like he wanted to stay down. Hagler even said during the commentary for Hearns. If he was hit with a big punch and he went down he would think as he was down about staying down. Took enough to get him to go down, but if he did he seemed to almost stay there or want to.

Hagler is the one who said during the Hearns fight that Roldan if you hurt him he wants to quit. Yeah I noticed that, but still if you look at the Hagler,Hearns and Nunn fights. In all the fights he looks like he could get up physically and he wanted to stay down. With Hearns he went down at the end of round one and his corner waved their hands as if to say get up. He was tough when he was standing and throwing punches, but if a guy hit him clean he could be stopped. The Barkley fight is tough to pick. Roldan probably hit harder but Barkley could fight a full 12 and in my mind was the higher quality fighter. Roldan did have tough opponents for all his title fights. Hagler,Hearns,Nunn, dont get much tougher than that.

...Would be an epic brawl, although I think Iran would turn boxer here.

If it's the Barkley from the Duran fight, my vote goes to him. Roldan was as strong as an ox though, so anything can happen.

The fight I would love to see is Roberto Duran vs. Juan Roldan.

Barkley was more solid a fighter all around than Roldan, although Roldan hit harder I think. Both hard punchers. I still would love to see Roldan vs. Duran. What a fight at middleweight.

Th Roldan who parked Fletcher in '83 against the Barkley who beat Kinchen in '86 would be an even war.......... 10 rd. draw.....
