the problem is the more prime Evander is at heavyweight the lighter he is. Evander when he was strong enough to deal with Tyson was starting to decline. He fought Mike at the right time. Mike in 1988 would have probably stopped Evander in about 4. 1996 Mike was not as defensive and didn't move his head.

That's also a myth. Tyson showed he could carry his power late in fights in the Jose Ribalta fight by stopping him late(and he was a tough opponent who could take a punch and fire back with him but still payed a price)and showing good stamina late in the fight. He also showed good stamina against Tony Tucker and Mitch Green. Kevin Rooney made sure he was sparring 15 round fights so he wouldn't have that problem.

He was still stronger in the first half of the fight than the second. But most fighters are. But he had to be. He was smaller than the opponents so he went at them early to wear them down. If he could knock them out, Great. But if not, by the mid-rounds on, they would have taken such a beating, Mentally and Physically, that he wouldn't need to be stronger because they weren't. That's when he could rely on his boxing skills which have become very underrated by some.

But there is one point you make...his power late in fights. It could come down to fighters who lasted into the later rounds became less willing to trade and more willing to survive...which makes it harder to get a clean shot on them...which makes it harder to get that KO.

Thats the way it should be really! Never an easy fight for either. This would have been such an awesome fight late 80s early 90s! Holy goin all out it would have been war!!! Possibly the greatest fight ever.

    Tyson, and easily.
Tyson when he fought Amanda didnt move his head at all, didnt throw his left hand very much, and was flat footed.
He punch more than single big right hand bombs, and Holyfield said when he saw Tyson dip and the knees, he just stepped forward(mostly leading with his head.
Tyson would have been way to quick, fit, expolsive and technically too good for Amanda when he was at his best, waaayy too good.

Those fights made Holyfield the over-rated fighter he was.

Holyfield. Best HW CPer in history. One of the best chins AT at HW. In his younger, prime days, could bang or fight slick depending on the circumstances.
Tyson never liked a guy who would take his shots. Holyfield could always take or smother his shots. Holyfield by clear but close decision 6/10 times prime for prime, but by T/KO(broken will) 10/10 times in their mid 30s.

Holyfield. He could take Tyson's power and has the style and skills to beat him.
