R.I.P Forrest Great fight right here, but I think that the Oscar that beat Trinidad beats Forrest. I say Goldenboy by Decision :bbb
Oscar that beat Mosley in the rematch vs Forrest that beat Mosley. I think Oscar had better defense than Mosley and for sure more reluctant to trade than Mosley Oscar only really traded or went toe to toe when he really had to. Forrest more textbook and conventional and he hadn't tasted defeat yet so he'd have a mental edge over Oscar coming into the fight. At a distance I think Oscars faster hands and lateral movement gets him an early lead, but Forrest evens the score in the later rounds. It'd look similar to Dlh vs Quartey. Maybe Forrest by a point or a draw. Forrest had a physical adv over Oscar, knew how to use it and had great timing vs Mosley, but I think Oscar was smarter than both. It'd be more of a boxing match I think. Forrest was the better inside fighter too and had Mosleys number, but I don't think he'd have Oscars. 99 Oscar wasn't complete yet Id favor Forrest.
quartey beat forrest too. a flat-footed Quartey coming from a year lay off beat ODLH as well... goes to show you how good oscar was
Forrest is vastly underrated. He beat Mayorga in the rematch and would have given DLH a real tough fight. I'd probably pick Oscar too though.
Vernon may be up a couple points, but I think at some stage Oscar will land the left hook and take him out. Temprament wise, the fight could be similar to DLH vs. Quartey, with the main difference that Oscar gets the knockout late. Forrest is a quality fighter, but I don't think he was most resilient. Tito would take him out too. I'm more positive of that than I am of DLH beating Vernon.
Forrest gets extremely overrated for his pair of wins over Mosley. DLH would have outpointed Forrest.
This would be a jab contest and Vernon had the faster quicker jab that would deter Oscar. Oscar was outjabbed clearly by Quartey, looked poor against Whitaker and ran against Trinidad. I see Forrest outboxing him with his jab and speed Forrest UD
