Not talking about generla greatness or achievements or who has the best resume.

Simply put, who would you pick to beat more guys than any other division by division?

Only include guys with available film otherwise it's hard to be educated about your opinion.

Guys I'm happy with so far

    HW: Ali
    LHW: Jones
    MW: Robinson
    WW: Robinson
    LW: Whitaker
    FW: Armstrong
    BW: Canizales/Jofre
    FLW: Canto

    thoughts?

    critiques?

    alternatives?

    ****, this is hard!

    HW - Louis
    LHW - Ezzard Charles
    MW - Fitzsimmons
WW - Robinson (was slightly tempted to say Tommy Hearns tho)
    LW - Duran
    FW - Pep
    BW - Zarate
    Fly - Jimmy Wilde

As you can tell, I have mainly selected guys with freakish power for their weight. Charles I feel could outbox any LHW in history, while Pep would beat most Feathers. Duran, while not a concussive puncher, could bang, and he had great boxing skills to back them up (do any other LWs beat Leonard?)

Of course I'm taking a chance with Middleweight here (was going to say Hagler), but how many other MWs in history could cleanly KO THE Heavyweight champion? Same with Wilde (lack of footage, not a great list of opposition etc), but he has the power to level most in the division.

Ali, Charles, Robinson, Robinson, Duran, Armstrong, Zarate, Wolgast

Thing is though, ruleset is important here. 15 or 12? Will you get away with lacing the eyes?

Also, is this a best-for-best thing? Best performances versus best performances I'm confident Robinson excels at MW, but if you set him an actual schedule from hell he gets spotty.

At BW you can choose between Jofre and Al Brown IMHO......Jofre had the overall package, power, defense, great offensive skills, very versatile.....Al Brown had the size combined with the jab, power, counter-punching skills and was very good defensively....was kind of a BW Thomas Hearns as someone else said here in Classic before.....

FLW is really hard, I made a topic recently, and people can´t pick one with confidence apparently......

MW I would pick Monzon...but a case can be made for Hagler I think.....

    BW Joltin' Jeff Chandler

    HW : basically :-( but if forced 2 pick 1 it's SNV
    CW : D Real Deal , possibly .
LHW : :-( but in more detail : Spinks , Moorer , Doug Jones , Langford , Charles and more may have a claim 2 it .
SMW : :-( Langford , Charles and more
    MW : :-( Langford , Hagler , Monzon , Charles and more
LMW : :-( McCallum (despite i'd slightly favor Hearns 2 decision him) , WSJ , Burley and others , probably Langford again as 1 of d others
WW : WSJ probably , possibly Burley or some1 else
    LWW : :-( Angott , Ross or some1 else
    LW : Armstrong , Joyce , Angott , Chavez , Ramirez , Canzoneri , McLarnin , Ross
___________ or possibly even some1 else
SFW : :-( Pacquiao / Armstrong but maybe some1 else ? Brian Mitchell maybe ?
    FW : Sanchez
    SBW : :-( Gomez ?
    BW : :-( Jofre ?
    superfly :
    fly :
    lightfly :
    minimum : :-( Lopez ????

    overall , this is y h2h lists r 4 , it's better than just picking a random #1 outof d A .

I've always been a supporter of Roy in general , but i don't think he's the best head-to-head at 175.He didn't hit nearly as hard as he did at middle and there's too many who wouldn't be flustered or totally outclassed by speed and would be the better more domineering physical fighters over 15.especially after a few hard-fought rounds and getting all up in his grill yo.

That's not Jones thing. As a smaller built power puncher who fought like a pure boxer and takes as little risks as possible with letting his hands go he really needs to be able to thoroughly deter with speed\ power.I don't see that as possible against some of the 175 beasts, hell he couldn't even discourage Mike McCallum and had to really open up on overmatched triers like Clinton Woods. hall and Griffin at this weight.

He's still very formidable, but too cautious and safety-first to outwork the likes of Spinks, Moore, Charles etc and he would need to if he can't get their respect.lets not kid ourselves he has anything other than a slim outside bet of knocking any of these guys out.I think he's more a fighter who could steal wins over anyone at the weight over 10 rounds, even against the very highest rated.Especially if they come in during a tough schedule and not at 100%.Peak vs Peak over 15...not so much.
