Can't believe the poll is so close.

Not knocking Wlad, but, Hopkins is easily the more exciting.

If Hopkins was in his prime and was a 175lber who was fighting Mayorga Kirkland Molina and the likes and employed a jab jab grab technique then it'd be close.

Watching Hopkins box is the same as watching paint dry or grass growing.........

at least Wlad usually gets the KO.
if the poll was who's more exciting a 30 year old B-hop or Wlad then that would be different

Master craftsman or jab-grab robot :think

B-Hop has been fighting younger, stronger guys & taking them to school.

Wlad has been fighting guys over whom he holds tremendous advantages & he still manages to be incredibly tentative & stink the joint out.

  13. I agree with ^ ^^^ wlad has great advantages, weak opposition and manages to milk out a tentative jab fest.

Hopkins style is a lot more exciting, especially when styles collide. Intuitive, likes the action. Hopkins has crafted his style from exploration, taking countless beatings in the gym, most likely from better fighters at the time and you can see it.

Hopkins career has been exceptional in terms of quality opposition.

And so he should. He has height and reach advantages over opponents that can sometimes be 20-30 pounds lighter. And the others that match him in weight, are so poorly conditioned it's embarrassing. And even then, he doesn't knock them out without using an overly cautious approach of jab-jab-grab.

Hopkins, at even his old age of 46, is still more exciting. So no, it wouldn't be different. His past two fights alone against Pascal (discounting Dawson), have been more entertaining than what Wlad has given us for God knows how many years.

Again, I'm not knocking Wlad here. I like the guy. He's classy. I'd much rather have him in the sport, than out. But let's be real here. He's not the most exciting of fighters.

Hopkins on his worst nights is a lot more boring than Wladimir on his. Just look at Hopkins fight vs Calzaghe.

But Hopkins vs Pavlik or vs Dawson was really cool. Obviously Wlad has his string of brutal KO's going for him, even so I think Hopkins is a tad more entertaining to watch.
