I think that was Mick's plan after seeing him being put down and shook up consistently.

Giving the Coldwell, Fearon and Hennessy dates could work.

Really hope Matchroom get the pick of the Olympians.

If Mick gets this deal then it'd make sense for the Olympians to sign with him and get on C5.

We all wanted a dedicated boxing channel and now we've got it.

We wanted boxing back on terrestrial telly and we've got that as well!

He'll have more chance of getting them if we don't win any medals. I can't see Mick and Channel 5 having deep enough pockets to feed an Olympic gold medalist.

This, Matchroom would be the best choice for any Olympians/Prospects.

  8. I've always been of the opinion that if you put boxing on, give it a platform, then people will watch.

Not saying you'll get back to the Benn vs Eubank days or anywhere near, but if you get the right fighters on, such as a fun to watch heavy or a straight up brawl like Froch vs Pascal it'll get people talking and they'll make a mental note to look out for the next time it's on.

Europa League football is ****, half the teams don't give a damn about it and use it as an opportunity to blood the young pups and protect the first team from injuries etc. No point paying good money for a product that people aren't really interested in.

I agree. If theres been a fight on C5 I'll always get people coming up to talk about it in my local. Granted, I'm known as 1 of the 2 "boxing fans" who drinks there but it still shows that people will tune in if its on.

I think a lot of the Sky Saturday night cards lose out to the competition with the casual fan whether thay be watching MOTD or Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here Dancing On Ice with the missus.

Like I said previously, I think anything will do our sport good.

Even if they can fight out a deal with Sky or Boxnation, to show highlights.

This article is blatant bull**** :blood

Why would they get rid of the Europa League after their highest ratings ever for more boxing?!

We stuck with Eubank and Fury and once that gravytrain is done with so is Boxing on channel 5

There highest rating ever are probably due to the failing of Man Utd / City they wont normally be in the Europa League and therfore not on Channel 5.

Its good news if true more boxing on mainstream the better for the sport.

I'd love to see a live heavyweight championship fight live on terrestrial TV - this is very realistic because of Fury on 5.

5 should sign up Fearon's fighters - he puts on shows the fas would really respond to.
