P4P is not about who beat you yesterday or who will beat you tomorrow, it's about who's done the most impressive thing in their weight class as of late. Marquez beat Manny, and should be #1.

Should Froch have been rated above Pascal after Pascal beat Dawson?

He said that before he fought Manny. From an interview right before Pac-JMM 3:

“Estoy conciente de todo eso que está en juego, más allá del Campeonato estamos pensando en la historia”, dijo Márquez Méndez, quien comió algo de fruta y salmón con verduras antes de presentarse este viernes a la ceremonia de pesaje. “Creéme que yo soy quien más conciente está de todo esto que hay en juego, voy contra el más popular, el mejor libra por libra, y yo quiero ese lugar”.

"I'm conscious of everything in play; beyond the championship, we're thinking about history", said Marquez Mendez, who ate some fruit and salmon with vegetables before appearing at the weigh ceremony in this past Friday. "Believe me that I'm the most conscious of everything that's in play; I'm going against the most popular, the best pound for pound, and I want that spot."

“La gente me pondrá en el lugar que quiera, ellos son los mejores jueces, sólo sé que si le gano a Pacquiao e voy a los cuernos de la luna y eso es algo que me llena muchísimo, vamos a hacer historia, ese es el objetivo de este combate, por eso lo pedimos y por eso nos preparamos como nunca antes”, señaló.

"The people will put me in the place that they want, they're the best judges; I only know that if I beat Pacquiao then I shoot to the moon, and that fills me up greatly (with motivation); we're going to make history, that's the objective of this fight, that's why we asked for it and that's why we've prepared ouselves like never before", he stated.

    may 2010 against Mosley.
    september 2011 against Ortiz.

    Reeeeeeeeeeeal active! :patsch

Unless you meant that there will be less than a year off since his last fight to his next one this time. So why not wait until AFTER the fight to move him up the rankings then? :huh
I mean, what if he loses? :hey

Then why didn't Floyd get number 1 after he beat number 3 p4p Mosley? And I'm pretty sure Froch was rated above Pascal P4P after that fight. A lot of people had Froch in the 8-15 range. He couldn't have been rated too highly because of his loss to Kessler though.

I bet you go Peterson number 1 at 140 too don't you?

Floyd's opposition since he unretired: Marquez, Mosley, Ortiz.
Pac's opposition in the same time frame: Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, Margarito, Mosley, Marquez.

Let's say Marquez = Marquez and Mosley = Mosley.
If your position is that Ortiz = Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, Margarito, then yeah, there's not huge difference. I would like to hear you make your case that Floyd's opposition is on par if not slightly better, though... :blood

Its interesting since come back FLoyd beat Marquez, Mosley and Ortiz
when beating Mosley is a huge win and jump to #1 WW.

At the same time PAC beat Hatton, Cotto, CLottley, Margo, Mosley, Marquez

The win over Cotto is the same caliber as Floyd's win over Mosley.
Beating bigger Margo should be similar to Floyd's domination of smaller Marquez.
If we think that beating shot Mosley and Hatton (Floyd's most recent leftovers)
is similar to beating overmatched Ortiz then we have still left Clottley at PAC's resume.

So the key reason for Floyd jumping to #1 p4p is PAC's struggle over
Marquez who was easily dominated by Floyd.

Then if Floyd struggles with Cotto who was dominated by PAC, and
PAC semi easily beats Bradley then the next switch at p4p top is possible.

I think its blow after blow, the last fight determines the current position.

PBF has never been knocked off, so there goes your little theory.:deal Not only that most people felt Pac lost to JMM who in my poll is #2.
