fans are always going to overrate their idols. They are the reason they are attached to the sport, without it their interest in the sport is suitably diminished.

The important thing is that they separate scientific fact from dreamt up fiction concerned their idols.

On here it has to be the Klitschkos, and the reason they overate them is you can tell the majority are not even fans of the sport. They proclaim Wladimir would decapitate any of the older generation boxers but haven't even bothered to watch their fights.

Talking to people in the street about Tyson is pretty much the same, casual fans that grew up in the Tyson era find it impossible for any heavyweight in history to last more than 4 rounds with an prime Mike.

RJJ is a bit overrated. Because he did something that noone else in history could do, he gets amazing rep for it which is entirely due.

But his weaknesses should be acknowledged by his fans too, for instance his longevity in boxing was pretty poor. Often I wonder if that was largely a 'mental' thing, if he just lost the drive once he acheived something no one else had done, and that virtually noone else could ever do. How do you follow that up? What motivates you after you have made history? Very little.

  11. Klitschkos. These guys have been stopped in 6 of their 6 combined losses.
Vitali a PROVEN roid user quit against Byrd.
    He was TKO'd in 6 by old,fat,Lewis.
Wlad was knocked cold by Lamon Brewster,Ross Puritty and the golfer.
But these Klit fans still claim the Klitschko bros to be the greatest of all time.
