Both Klitschkos....their fans give them a bad image Chauncy Welliver. If given the right fight, could be a major factor in division Kevin Johnson.....People fail to realize boxers do suffer injuries in fights Bernanrd Hopkins..See KJ Above ODLH....Had to many big fights (win or lose) not to be respected Gabe Brown..People don't know that he had a medical condition that caused him to gain alot of weight; very hard training regiment Any journeymen, tomato can, palooka, etc that takes fights on short notice (ie: Galen Brown, Byron Polley)
Larry Holmes,Ricardo Lopez,Dennis Andries,Carl Thompson,Virgil Hill,Mike McCallum,Azumah Nelson,Israel Vasquez. This will be a good and probably very long thread. Ajose Olusegun,Lucas Matthyse,Wongjongkam,Moreno,Nishioka,Burns,Guererro and Uchiyama are current examples IMO.
I don't hate Bernard but he talks way too much, he would be a bad coach. And I think he gets the deserved respect. :thumbsup
Bernard Hopkins would be a fantastic Boxing coach IMO :good Understands the game more than 99% of fighters AND trainers. The friction would come when the guy he was training wasn't as dedicated as Hopkins himself.
Solid list especially from the past boxers:good . . . but are they not as respected or just not talk about enough (which i think is another form of not giving respect.
