I am sure it does. Because if a guy moves you wont put weight behind your shots. He was surely affected by fighting an elusive guy as Ali, and aware that he could got taken out in a flash if he was not carefull.

But, seriously ... What Liston does is to walk towards Ali in a straight line and throw a single jab towards Ali's face. Misses. And repeats. He does not FEINT with the jab, he does not throw a DOUBLE JAB, he does throw AGAINST THE BODY.

:rofl:rofl:rofl, You can't be serious. Sonny Liston had not only the most powerful jab at that time but he had an 84 inch reach, his arms were tremedously long. Ali took his jab away from him. Sonny Liston would demolish Sam Peter.:roll:

Ali had everything better than freakin David Haye. Earnie Shavers was considered the hardest puncher in history but his skills ****in sucked. Power doesn't mean jack **** if you can't hit the target. I can name at least 10 heavyweights and at least 5 crusierweights that would knock David Haye out. Anybody who thinks Haye is on Ali's level seriously may need to see a damn doctor to get their eyes checked because either their blind or there lookin at the wrong Ali, because they ain't looking at the prime Ali of the late 60's.

    Tell me what you see:

I see Liston walk towards Ali in a straight line, throw a single jab to the face that miss. He repeat this pattern until Ali of course counter him into oblivion.

I see Sam Peter feint with the left, throw multiple jabs, mix it up with hooks and go to the body. Unlike Liston he keeps his stance while missing, instead of reaching.

    Tell me what I miss.

You posted a video of Liston getting schooled by Ali, to prove that Peter has a better jab and would beat Liston. Ali would make Samuel Peter quit on his stool faster than Vitali did.

I am not saying Sam Peter would beat Liston. I am not saying he would do better against Ali then he did against Vitali. I am saying Liston walk towards Ali in a straight line, headhunting with single jabs to the face, starts to reach when he misses and stick to the same pattern until he gets knocked out. And that is not a good way to make use of the jab. Explain to me why I am wrong. Dont use Ali's greatness as an allround alibi in the discussion.

But your point is moot because your talking about styles but it still doesn't prove that Wlad would have a chance against a prime Ali and no he wouldn't do better against Ali than he did against Vitali. Ali is way faster, with better reflexes, a good flicking jab and he put punches together in combinations like a welterweight. He would destroy Samuel Peter, I would feel sorry for him after it because he would punish him.

Thanks for your reply. It was an interesting read. And the highlight video of Liston was clarifying as well.

Here's the protocol for posting in threads involving a Klitschko vs. a HW from the 1970's.

________ (put any golden era HW in this blank) outpoints Wlad to a UD or wears down him down and stops him late.

You can literally put in ANY golden era HW and I guarantee some dip**** who belongs in Classic has said it.

The protocol for Vitali Klitschko vs. anyone is...

________ is simply too fast for the robotic Vitali. _______ would either outpoint him or stop him on cuts.
