from what we've seen of him, he's shown the most skill of any boxer of the last 20 years IMO.

The reason why he could be overrated is, IMO he's bot faced a true challenge yet. It's easier to look good against opponents your supposed to beat.

If onlythere was a prime ATG in his same weight class tha he could fight and prove to the world he's as good as we all think he is. If only...

Unbeaten records dont mean anything. He's been made to look beatable by less then great fighters, b-level even. Most people think Castillo beat him the first time around.

I never said he's easy to figure out, I said hes not that hard to figure. You act like this a fukin jigsaw puzzle, and it's not. Floyd is pretty mechanical and has a lot of obvious habits as a fighter. That doesnt mean he easy, but there are harder fighters to figure out then Floyd.

Good for you. Me calling Floyds skill level "extremely overrated" in light of the massive amount of delusional comments people around here say about him, isn't anything to get excited about. I think Floyd's a good fighter, super skilled, but he's overrated, especially by people who know little about the sport. His talent and physical ability are more impressive then his actually boxing skill.

Is Castillo really all that great?

Oscar was 1 fight away from retirement, made him look ordinary / beatable.

Mosley looked shot and made him look beatable for a few rounds.



Aside from a few names he hasnt really fought anybody special, and none of the big names on res were anywhere close to there primes, more like at the end of their careers.

 

Overrated by some but not by everyone. Shane mosley tagged him with a clever combination. After that he tried it multiple times but Floyd countered him.
Against Judah he kept his guard up at all times because of the uppercut. In one round Floyd was tagging Judah with ease and Judah countered with a perfect uppercut but it was blocked.
Victor Ortiz had him on the ropes but had to back away because he didn't know what to do. Ortiz never backs off when he gets his opponent on the ropes.

 

your delusional if you dont think the man's skill level isn't extremely high.

that does not make him the greatest or on par legacy wise with some of the other greats!


but SKILL WISE ONLY that man is in a company of very FEW out of a ton of boxers!

i mean as boxing fans you have to acknowledge his skill level at the very least...thats not saying you agree with him or think he is unbeatable or anything like that....but just skill wise the man is up there with allllllll the greats.

Honestly, the only flaw - and it's not even a full fledged flaw - is his lack of combination punching, or his being content at scoring with single shots.
