Not that it matters but hey.. its a forum so might as well post something :)

The Mayweather that could run and outbox his opponents worked for a while but it wasn't going to work against the elite at 147 nor 154..

Think about it, Mayweather throwing 15 punches a round boxing going backwards vs. Manny throwing over 60 punches a round..? Manny via UD easy any day... Same versus Mosley, If Mayweather would have came in to run and only pot shot... could have also lost a UD...

The world wants to see him loose... he isn't going to risk it and is showing yet another dimension to his game. His leg's are not gone, he just knows full and well that he cannot afford to just pot shot his way to victories against the true elite fighters at 147 throwing 15-20 potshots per round..

This version of Mayweather gives Pacquiao or any other fighter fights between 147-154... the boxer.. i just don't know...

So this is why i think he changed his style a bit; even during the Mosley bout, he got rocked and his trainer and bff leonard kept on yelling.. box, box.. and Mayweather didn't listen and kept pushing forward.. he knows what he is doing... the kid got skillz.

I think hes doin it bc everybodys been callin him a runner so hes tryin to be a lil macho. Nothin to do with his legs, really. But he is older and fighters change as they age.

Floyd still doesnt throw that many punches per round. Hiis style is essentially the same albeit with less foot movement. He's still the same potshotting / counter puncher that he's always been.

Your right about the Mosley thing and that's soley because of Shanes age. But on the Pacquaio thing, he would have to potshot, time, and give him angles to set up counters and that's because Pacquaio explosivness and volume of punches/workrate he throws and the angles he throws them from. If he tries that stragey with Pacquaio that he did with Mosley, he'll lose bad. Pacquaio will make him look like Clottey but probably worse because he's not as strong as Joshua Clottey.

He would. You can't cover up and block a guys punches that's throwing so many at you with speed and power. And on top of that Pacquaio is a southpaw, i'm talking strickly styles. See the problem with you guys is, you look at all the other fighters he's beatin that way but fail to realize, Pacquaio is better than all of them.

well i think it does have to do sumthing with age, hes getting older and fights are becoming more competive. same thing with bernard hopkins. the age starts getting to them wen there fights start getting closer.

then again . hes also always steppin up in competitions and fiting different styles, and floyd seen every style there is so he knows wut kinda style he has to bring to the ring that night. but either way floyd is always prepared to use all his tools, and he has every single tool there is, ever answer to ne problem u may catch him here n ther but eventually he will figure u out and u cant figure him out n he kicks ur ****in ass!!!

Pac is not going to recklessly throw punches at Floyd. All it will take is a few timely counters to slow Pac down.

Mayweather doesn't cover up and block punches like Clottey. You talk about understanding styles and then go on to compare two COMPLETELY different styles cause it fits your jagged logic. Get your facts straight.

Pac will throw more, but he will still lose, simple.

No it's not jagged logic and I never said he has the same style as Clottey, but what I did say is if HE FIGHTS PACQUAIO THE WAY HE DID SHANE MOSLEY, HE'LL LOSE BECAUSE PACQUAIO IS NOT ONLY FASTER AND HARDER TO TIME THAN SHANE MOSLEY BUT HE FIGHTS NOTHING LIKE HIM. DO YOU UNDERSTNAD NOW. I only said it would look like the CLOTTEY FIGHT if he fought HIM THAT WAY.

Did you ever think mayweather might change the way he approaches the fight considering he's fighting some, shorter, faster, fights completely differently and has a completely different stance? It's like saying if JMM fought PAC the same way he did mayweather he'd lose. Irrelevant point as it isn't going to happen, your better off just not saying anything

Mayweather pressed the attack with Mosley. He didn't really cover up in a shell defense simply because he didn't have to.

He hit Mosley with crisp hard counter shots throughout 12 rounds. Right hands landed at will (which Manny is a sucker for), and Floyd didn't use his feet in that fight cause there was absolutely no reason to, Mosley was there to be hit.

Floyd hit Mosley with harder and more accurate punches than Manny did throughout their fight, simply cause Pacquiao couldn't keep up with a rudimentary step to the left. :patsch

He fights nothing like Clottey and Clottey does not have the versatility that Floyd has.

Clottey hardly threw against Manny, but when he did throw, Manny was getting hit clean...Floyd has more precision and coordination than Joshua.

It isn't about what Floyd can or can't do; it's about what Pacquiao can't do, and he can't adapt to a specific style...Marquez 3 is the perfect example.
