Is Lennox "Maple Leaf" Lewis truly a Canuck? Let's look at the facts: -His parents are Jamaican -He started boxing in Canada -He learned the sweet science in Canada -He has said in numerous interviews that he loves consuming maple syrup -He won the gold for his home country and brought glory to Canada Lennox then, like many boxers, went to a country where the pro game was more lucrative. Many boxers do this to make more money. The Klitschko bros did it with Germany, Pacquiao did it with the US. Though the Klitschko's and Pac may be citizens of their adopted country, that country can't truly claim them. So I ask you, ESB, is the best British boxer ever a Canadian?
considering in his victories hes flying the union jack, no. He at least, seems to think hes brittish.
Best British boxer might well be Jimmy Wilde, who was Welsh. Lewis retains Canadian citizenship, as well as holding British citizenship. So both nations can claim him as their own, without either country being wrong in the matter. :deal
He's a Jamaican born in Canada, lived in Canada since he won the gold medal I believe he quit Canada because he's a jerk with no loyalty... $$ talk

So boring you stalk me in every thread I post in. :hi: Don't you have a Klitschko hate picture to photoshop or something?
He wasnt always a "true Brit" They waited to see how he would turn out before they adopted him as there own! Before then he was BOO'ed in England
Drew, Its all black and white for these guys. If ain't Klitschko related he is lost, so please do not confuse him with facts. :deal
Is he the best fighter "to fight IN Britain" probably not, since Ali fought Cooper in Britain you moron
He did not fight for Canada he fought for England so he is not a Canadian boxer. And no Canadians talk of Lewis being a Canadian boxer, he is considered a English boxer. He was not a British boxer when he fought in the Olympics for the same reasons. No British likely think that Lewis won them a gold medal in the Olympics. And all Canadians know that Lewis did not fight for Canada as a pro, just as a amateur.
Canadian or British, Lennox isn't the best fighter either country has ever produced. Great as he is, of course.
