Cotto was always huge for the lower for the lower divisions. If he was the same size as Katsidis, then it would be more competitive than you think. Cotto would definitely stop him, but not that early.

Plus you gotta remember, Cotto's chin at 140 and below was seriously questionable and Katsidis does throw bombs, he just has a paper face and porous defense that would eventually spell his doom.

Now you're just being a baby. Whether Marquez was a half second faster against Mayweather wouldn't have made a bit of a difference. Mayweather COMPLETELY shut him out. That has never happened to Marquez before or since. I don't need to prove anything. Watch the fight again. Marquez is an old pro and having one or two extra pounds of fat didn't mean ****. He was just as slow against Pacquiao and still boxed a brilliant fight.

Cotto's chin was questionable at 140 Ibs. because he had trouble making weight. If that was the case he would of been knocked out by Mosley when he caught him flush on the chin. But, if they were the same size(both at their full strength)
Cotto knocks him out faster than Marquez did.

 

He would always have a style advantage over Marquez but it doesn't change the fact that Marquez looked slow, didn't carry his speed(because his preparation wasn't right) and Floyd didn't make the contracted weight he was suppose to because he wanted to insure he had a big strength advantge over him and he knew it. He hired a fitness guru that helped him carry his speed and add muscle mass so he didn't lose his speed and carry his strength. People were even making a big deal about the fitness guru he hired because he was involved in a legal issues regarding steroids. If you don't see that, than your half ****ing ******ed.

 

GTFOH, it didn't matter what weight it was at. Mayweather chose not to come in two pounds lighter as was his right. The fight was @ 147 but there were penalties for every pound over 144.

Was Marquezs' preparation better? Of course it was (none of which is Mayweather's fault, but you constantly bring it up), that's not what I'm arguing moron. What I am arguing is the fact that you try to downplay what Mayweather did to him because Marquez was "completely different" or "he was sooooo fat and lethargic". In actuality, he showed absolutely nothing in the Pacquiao fight that he couldn't do in the Mayweather fight, it's just he couldn't catch Mayweather like he caught Pacquiao, simple.

The Marquez that boxed the breaks off of Pacquiao would have still been shut out against Mayweather but it's a complete style difference that equals the performance in the end not a fitness difference.
