I agree, but the integrity of the sport and the safety of the fighters should be paramount. If Overeem had battered JDS, and assuming JDS is clean, then that would have sent out the wrong signal to the world about the UFC's commitment to a level playing field It's the lesser of two evils imo. You will never get rid of PED's in any modern sport no matter how strict and random the testing is. But that doesnt mean you shouldn't try Im willing to give up a fight Im looking forward to on those terms
Absolutely agree. but chew on this: according to Cagepotato.com "Of the aforementioned fighters who were accused of steroid use after fights, 14 were successful in those fights, while 21 were unsuccessful." even though its cheating, it's effectiveness in giving you a serious advantage in combat sports has yet to be proven. I think PED's should be banned regardless. Cheating is cheating.
Chael said he was .1 point over. The high average is about .39. This is measured differently than you are doing it. If Overeem was double the limit, that would put him at almost .80, which is significant dosing. My doc measures free test by SI units I believe
Sonnen was actually 4 times over the allowed limit according to the Commission Chael really is MMA's Pied Piper of ****wits
Right. But YOU know it somehow. The people who are pros who are meant to sniff it out can't, but you know all about it. Those who have been caught, they were just unlucky right. Sure buddy.
There are plenty of designer drugs out there that cannot be detected. Read some of the things that Marquez' strength and conditioning coach for his third fight against Pac.
Iv posted extensively on this here before. The reality is hormone abuse is RIFE in MMA and that certainly includes the UFC. Its no coincidence that former NSAC employee's such as Ratner and Lorenzo both hold significant positions with the company. Both Lorenzo and Dana are POSITIVELY on gear. Whilst Dana has even admitted this. The UFC has to be seen to be taking a 'tough' stance on hormone use. But frankly its complete bull****. The tests are **** easy to pass (pun intended). And the fighters have been in many cases notified before these so called 'random' tests. Unless the UFC is willing to introduce an Olympic style dope testing policy every effort they put forth will be futile. Ultimately its not something they really care about or can do anything about. Since the UFC's inception MANY of their stars have been on hormones. Those fighters that bring in serious revenue in addition get paltry fines and almost turned a blind eye to. It was clear as day Overeem was on serious gear for some time. People think building that kind of lean muscle is just a case of going the gym and hitting weights. Building muscle is VERY difficult. Building that kind of lean muscle without an artificial supplement is simply impossible. This man is an incredibly built human specimen. Some bodybuilders don't even get physiques like that despite eating dbol like skittles. This content is protected If they want to combat this problem do what PRIDE did. And don't even waste your time with a test.
Much like Bas Rutten i just laughed when Overeem came out with this nonsense about horse meat. Yeah sure its full of protein. The kind of protein that will **** up your bowels for weeks. But it sure as **** isn't going to help you build that kind of muscle.
Of course. I mean do you think these guys don't have angles and ways to pass the tests. Why else would a big juicer even take a test in the first place? Overeem fuked up, that's the only difference between him and alot of the others that passed the test. When there's millions of dollars on the line, well in MMA there's only thousands, of course an elite athlete is going to exhaust every option to increase his performance. Pressure and money (and fame) will drive one to take the risk.
