I have no doubt in what your saying is true, it happens to most boxers at one time or another. Everyone has a flat day, they also have sharp days in which they cant miss a beat. The problem i see with Alex isnt one that occurs on the odd occasion, he appears to gas in just about every single fight he is in, be it his style, getting hit to much or not enough stamina, its pretty evident and needs to be worked on before he is to go any further, and dnt get me wrong, im a fan of Alex i think he has done awsome but id like to see him not gas like he does because honestly it doesnt look good. lets take someone like Mike Tyson for example, whom i consider to be similar style to Alex, Tyson didnt gas out in his early years, but was still able to throw the big shots. Alex is lacking something that is causing him to gas, he has the power and he can take a shot. I think he should work on his defence, sharpen up his boxing skills and ensure stamina is not an issue. Running alone doesnt condition you for stamina, he also needs better sparring which im sure you guys already know. Francis may have a funny way of presenting things but he means well imho, its just some people are smart about what they say and can ruffle a few feathers whilst others can be polite and civil. take what you will with a grain of salt, this is after all only a boxing forum m8, appreciate you taking the time to reply, hope u guys have a great easter weekend! :good
what makes a distance runner better than all the others? what makes a sprinter that bit faster? why could smoking joe have such a punch rate, power and stammina for 15, and tyson and foreman couldnt? tyson used to gas. so did foreman. not all athletes are equal as to stammina. give them equal training, one will be fitter. why, i dont know. but to say alex could have trained harder, is only a question alex could answer. to blame alex or his team is impossible, unless you watched the whole prep, AND could get inside alex's head and know if he could have pushed harder. i suggest he did his best. but fitness has platforms. alex has continually raised the bar to his fitness. that is something all of you have seen, but have failed to appreciate. he proved fitter this time, than any time before. alex is a tyson/foreman type athlete. his strength is his explosive power. he is never going to be a 'points distance' style of fighter. joe frazier was a rare fighter. probably due to living the boxing lifestyle and training hard since he was a young kid. but so did foreman and to a degree, tyson. so again, it is personal potential that reflects how fit someone can get. alex team took a risk. they fought a good, world class fighter. alex has lost nothing in the eyes of the public. his power showed, as did his chin. he stayed on his feet, he got fitter than ever before, he learned some valuable lessons; lessons he doesnt even know he has learned yet. he wont discover his new abilities till he fights again. which i hope is soon. alex has raised his personal fitness bar. he has reached a platform from where he can become an even fitter boxer. he is now a smarter boxer, knowing better when to conserve energy, and when to expend it. he is australias premier heavyweight. and is getting better with each fight against world class athletes. demori and welliver are shadows of alex. they have proven repeatedly that they are too scared to fight him. if this isnt right, then both of you, challenge alex. do it now. say it. they wont. so all you demoron and welleater fan boys, eat your humble pie. keep fighting bums. but shut the **** up about a real fighter that is willing to take on the worlds best.
hey guys from Alex, myself & the Leapai family wishing you guys awesome Easter break & please stay safe....we had 1 death yesterday & 1 this morning around the corner from us a truck & motorbike.:-(
Unfortunately there's a minority of simpletons here that waste everybody's time atsch Happy Easter to team Lionheart :good
:rofl:rofl:rofl Seriously tho Alex has had stamina issues throughout his professional career which require changes ASAP otherwise he will always be a gatekeeper type beating most at home, but as soon as he takes on a top 35 Heavyweight he is going to be in trouble especially coming the 2nd half of bouts (rounds 7 thru to 12).
Sally, don't think you will find any Chauncy or Demori fanboys bagging Alex at all. Think you'll find the ones doing the bagging are the keyboard warriors. Lionheart, Appreciate you posting on here and don't let the twats get to you. Have a great Easter and hope Alex enjoy's a well deserved rest.
I simply don't get it.........we whinge, whine & moan about our fighters stepping up......Alex does........loses........and now we lay the boot into him. **** I'm glad I don't rely on some here when the going gets tough. Well done to team Leapia for taking the next step to determine what areas need to be addressed........you can learn a hellavu a lot from a loss to a quality opponent. Happy Easter all.
