McGuire seems to want to target consistant performers, which is an area where big Dave needs to work on.
He's not an 80 minute player, and still fatigues more than we want him to. His pathetic attempted tackle on Mitchell Pearce in the final minute against the scum says it all.

With Sam, Luke, and Roy all out now, I'd definitely move him to the front row, as we have a chunk of quality 2nd rowers at the club. Peats, Clarke, Pettybourne, etc are more than capable of filling the void.

Yep. When Merritt or Roberts get back, it'll be time for Mr Farrell to shake hands with the North Sydney coach.

    Titans/Scum ****s. Who takes it?
I got a sneaky feeling that the Tits will stand up and be too good for the scum. :yep

Yep, for sure. You blokes are going well....the scramble defence in the second half yesterday was the best part i reckon. If you can get most guys fit and keep em on the paddock you are top 4 stuff.

I like the binnies this year. I know someone mentioned morris turning matt king inside out a few times but thats ok...inside and outside defenders were there and king didnt let morris get too much space.

I reckon king is a great addition to souths. Said before...like an extra forward, gets involved from the jump.

King has been very solid defensively, without being spectacular in attack. Thats more than a pass mark imo. A much needed addition to the leaky ship formerly known as Souths.

Our defence is getting better and better. Not much to cheer about in our attack so far, but McGuire is clearly targeting getting the defence right first, and the rest will follow.

NZ in NZ next week will be another good test.

Meads possitional play in defence is keeping the titans in it , letting them crab sideways and pass to the wing who has no room once mead closes them down.

From what i can gauge and definitely against penrith ( went to that game)..,.mcguire is basing your attack in and around the ruck making use of your big boppers. You guys dont shift the ball too much, instead inglis is used more now that he playing a different position/ role.

To get a win over the dogs down a few cylinders in the forwards - good sign!

Thats why Issac Luke is our most important and irreplacable player. He gets so much go forward, and sets the platform for all the forwards.

I reckon as the season goes on, our attack will get a bit more expansive. If we can carry a 55-60% win ratio until then, I'll be happy.

I'd boot Farrell from the wing before fanta pants.
Corrigan offers zilch in attack but is fairly solid defensively, and our defence on the edges is our achillies heel.

Well let's be honest. Dave Taylor hasn't played anywhere near as good as he did then the last 10 games for the Broncos. He's been pretty average for the remainder.

That could be said for a lot of players who get the big dollar contract and then just coast til their contract is almost up.
