:deal Agreed. I think prime MAB beats any version of Naz... But as it goes, their fight should of been much more competitive...
Doesn't really make sense, if prime Barrera won 115-112 over a sliding and unmotivated Hamed, how could he easily beat a prime and motivated Hamed?
He fought a guy from my hometown earlier on in his career, Miguel Mathews (still havent figured out why a welshman has the name Miguel) has over 100 fights only winning about 12 but only got stopped 8 times ( one of them being Naseem Hamed ). Mathews went onto beat future world champion Scott Harrison via TKO [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLmJsf2pd-g[/ame] That being said the fight was stopped way too early, not that Miguel would have won but I think he could have gone the distance in that fight
And here we go again with excuses for Hamed loss to Barreraatsch any way you put it MAB is better and greater!!! PS Hamed had great power.
The scoring was very generous towards Hamed, even accounting for the point deduction. Barrera controlled the fight from the first round. Arguably, a "prime and motivated" Hamed never existed, as by the time he reached what should have been his physical prime his training habits were very lax. He moved to Featherweight far too early because he loved his food too much and hated roadwork, and with the exception of the Johnson fight (where he overtrained) he probably never had proper preparation for a title fight. When you think how good he was against Belcastro so early in his career, it has to go down as one of the biggest waste of talents of his generation.
those scorecards were bull****. that was an embarrassing one sided beat down. NO VERSION of Naseem belongs in the ring with Barrera.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wSvQY6Cl44[/ame] Prince Naseem Hamed messed about in training and did not take Barrera very serious. He would of sparked Barrera out if he was motivated. He was hardly beaten down by Berrera, Berrera simply prepared much better and executed his game plan. All you yanks won't admit it, but Prince Naseem Hamed was probably the best thing to happen to boxing since Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson. He had star quality, his images are burned into are minds, he was a pure genius who completely influences and changed the game. The excitement that he created is still floating around in this universe on a sub atomic level. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fL7JNQg5eU0[/ame]
