All of Mayweather's opponents take insta-bum before every fight, so until they stop taking it no matter who Mayweather fights they will always be garbage.

 

The even bigger problem with a foreign fight would be the time differences between there and the states for PPV. A fight that happens in Beijing, China would air there at say 8PM, that same fight would air at 8AM on the east coast, 4 AM on the West Coast and around early afternoon in London.

So either you have to hope people would tune in to see this live at Pretty early in the ****ing morning, or you try to do a tape delay, which proved disasterous for the UFC because ESPN was airing fight results and highlights before the card even started when they had a card in Abu Dhabi.

 

For the most part Ali fought American promoted fights against Americans overseas. Floyd is smart enough not to deal with corrupt over seas commissions, promoters, ect.

 

He doesnt put himself in a position to test himself to the limit and make a risky career move that could potentially hand him a loss but a win would propel him to greatness. Duran for example had a lot of these moments in his career. Taking on Hagler, Leonard and many others. SRR giving up 20 pounds to take on the raging bull multiple times or challenger Maxim. Ali taking on foreman. If Floyd had fought Cotto, Margarito, Pacquiao, a few years ago, then we may have seen this, but timing is everything in boxing, and the timing always favors Floyd. I dont blame Floyd for all of this either. If he was a welterweight in the 70s 80s or 90s maybe he would have had greater rivals. Mosley, Hoya, were already at the tail end of their career when Floyd fought them. I dont blame Floyd for that. I consider todays Welterweight division to be weak. I still consider this Cotto fight to be his toughest challenge to date. Im not sure how much thats woth though.

Acelino Freitas wanted no part of Floyd after the Corrales beatdown (Floyd beating Corrales not Acelino's quit job against Chico). A fight with Casamayor didn't make sense after he lost to Freitas especially since Floyd moved up in weight. I acknowledge there was a window it simply wasn't the cards.

Floyd tried to get a fight with Kotsya Tszyu but Tszyu's camp preferred Hatton. And then lost to the Hitman.

Floyd wanted Hatton or Cotto after he demolished Arturo Gatti (RIP) and neither of them wanted a piece. Cotto said straight up that he wasn't ready and Hatton needed more time.

He looked for the challenge against Winky Wright at 160 while he was still fighting at 140. That is a real challenge. Winky's camp demanded to much money and essentially priced themselves out.

Margarito was dangled in front of him but that fight came with strings. If he took that fight, financially it would have been a terrible move. The drawback was that TOP Rank Fighters were off limits.

For a guy that is not the greatest it is his critics that talk about him more than his fans do... Floyd has expressed he wanted to fight in England,all the great boxers come here from Mexico,Puerto Rico,to fight American fighters so whats the difference..

Floyd can fight Vitali and beat him,and these same clowns will say "He only fights who he knows he can beat" well how does he KNOW that.. And yes that is called a hypothetical facing a heavy weight..
