Nice of you to notice Dracon.Thanks.:good The rest of you should be ashamed of yourselves for not spotting this.
Hey, I was wondering, do you guys know what relationship Bute has with his amateur trainer? You know, the one that basically predicted he'd get schooled by Ward? Is he butthurt?:think
He may be upset not to share the glory. He was just a trainer from a small village. Bute has not become who he is because of him. That may upset him.
his present trainer (larouche)is the most underated trainer out there, but all these perceptions on bute and his team will soon change, already hater are having trouble finding excuses to put him down, and soon their will be noone left. we have a great champion in our romanian canadian, and its killing many people that the level of boxers coming out of montreal is getting very impressiv.
That old fart ain't Romanian. He's a Jewish-Austrian-German-Swiss-American-glass-livered-fraud.:-( The only thing greater than his vulnerability to a weak blow inside a boxing ring is his infamous statelessness.:deal
The trainer you're talking about, Felix Paun, trained Bute from the age of 12 to the age of 14 in Pechea village in an improvised place, from what i know; At the time Bute boxed in the orthodox stance, imitating his coleagues. Only his second coach noticed he was a natural lefty. Before the Mendy fight, Paun though Bute vs. Ward is a 50-50. Bute donated his gloves fron the Mendy fight and Paun's club got from a public bid around 10.000 euro; Paun wasn't sadisfied at all, he said his club will not survive more than 2 years from then; but he wasn't that dramatic about Ward schooling Bute, he just said he would lose; the press tends to exagerate things, the romanian press for sure.
In all seriousness,is the guy who had him for two years at 12 really trying to make some claim on his ability? Bit of a tenuous claim, don't you think?:huh Was there more to the story or did he just say that he picked Ward (apart from what S.I has written above)
well, now that i've read once again what Paun had to say, i was wrong about the schooling part: Felix Paun (aprox. translation): "i don't think Lucian has many chances against Ward. Maybe 5% but not more. Only with a lucky shot he could win. But i don't think they will ever meet. Proffessional boxers know their limitations they know their chances before a bout. () in addition, Ward will only fight in U.S.A because he has 2 belts, and there, even if Lucian will give a close fight, he would have no chance of winning a decision. Bute won't risk that much because if he loses his belt he would have to start from scrach "
