Pacquiao destroyed Cotto when Cotto was at his WORST! There is a reason why Pacquiao would NEVER rematch Cotto at 154lbs.

This post illustrates everything that is wrong with boxing at the moment.

Yes, he's a still relevant belt holder with the largest PPV fan base(besides Pacman or Alvarez) and was available to fight May 5. Also, Cotto was not in his prime against Pac. The Margarito ****** was still on his back and Diaz wasn't in his corner.

Very little was shown and or exposed in this video though I did notice a slight change in Cotto's footwork along the ropes, knowing Floyds workrate is never really pushed and the combination of lateral movement and punching will cause Floyd to either attack more often and expose himself or cause Cotto to eat more counters....its a gamble but one I think Pedro is banking on. Pluse if you notice Cotto is pushing and punching along the chest and upper basket area when Floyd (Pedro) transitions to a defensive mode this would ultimately shave off the effectiveness of his right hand and at the sametime postion him off balance when he executes a counter right. When your being pushed back like that your forced to throw less than effective jabs it takes a split second more to land an effective counter and in that time frame the aggressor has the opportunity to put in body/head work...yet another gamble with facing a fighter of Floyds pedigree but one Pedro and Cotto are willing to take. May 5th can't come any sooner.

    thanx for the upload.

as of right now he looks well too slow for floyd.
if that doesnt change he gets quicker I see floyd pikcing him apart.

Ya I think they will be comfortable with Floyd as the aggressor and try to turn him and throw as he is resetting, and when they get Floyd to go straight back that is when the will put the heat on him. I think Diaz is game planning off the Ortiz fight. There were times Floyd would be stalking get a little overextended and than go straight back in a line as Ortiz attacked, and I think they believe when Cotto gets those opportunities he will be able to capitalize better than Ortiz did.

These guys can easily reverse roles in this fight, they both have the skill set to do so. Most casual fans see this fight as a repeat of the Ortiz fight but I'm willing to bet this will be one hell of a chess match. I actually don't like the idea of Cotto trying to get into a technical battle with Floyd for obvious reasons and I sort of feel the same way about Floyd trying to prove his power against Cotto. So many different scenerios can play out and we only have 12rds.

i totally agree. it all looks like very good **** but what i don't like is when he starts to lean over that front foot to work the body. he's very vulnerable to uppercuts and crosses. also...cotto's positioning of his right hand...it worries me a little. the other thing that worries me is that this footage is available at all. if we can see it...so can floyds team. floyd says he doesn't study film...but i'm sure someone on his team does.

pac got the best of him....but destroyed is a stretch. cotto switched tactics and exposed one of pacs main flaws...he does not know how to cut off a ring against someone who gives him lateral movement.
