Do you guys think that beating Cotto would be Floyd's most impressive win on his resume?

If not, who do you think it is?

I imagine most people would go all the way back to the Corrales win b/c of the circumstances surrounding that fight.

However, if people believe Corrales was his greatest victory, could you then say that Floyd hasn't had a great moment since then?

IMO, defeating someone of Cotto's caliber at 154 pounds will trump all of his victories from the past. Of course, I say this b/c I do not believe (as many others would have you believe) that Cotto is "shot". I do not believe that anyone has posed a threat to Floyd in a long time. Some people will point to DLH and Zab as more recent fights where he was in danger. However, we all know that Zab had a history of underachievement and DLH was clearly past his best.

Corrales is his biggest win...I'll put the De La Hoya and Hatton over Cotto...then again Cotto could be a bigger win than an undefeated Hatton....

    good thread

    Corrales
    Genaro
    Castillo II
    < Cotto >
    Hatton
    de la Hoya
    Mosley
    Baldomir
    JMM
    Ortiz
    Manfredy
    Gatti
    Judah
    Chavez
    Corley

Hatton and de la Hoya changes in my mind on a daily basis in terms of which I value more/is more impressive. The Cotto win would be higher (in my opinion at this particular moment) ASSUMING it is thoroughly dominant.

I can see why hatton would be on this list, on paper, but IMO he is way overrated. If you think it's Corrales, do you think that takes away from his legacy b/c he hasnt consistently stepped up the stakes?

The Oscar De la Hoya fight could of went ther way..? and it would of not been a robbery.

Technically, Ricky Hatton is his biggest win.

Corrales was a one demensional banger, and completely weight drainned.

No. And Floyd has, quote on quote, stepped up the stakes.

I can see why many people believe this and it's fair enough. IMO it doesn't effect his legacy as at the end of the day he does what he wants. When I saw the Ricky Williams story unfold, it was ridiculous that a grown man got all that hate for retiring from a job and that at the end of the day what being a boxer, football player etc is.

I feel floyds legacy will always be looked at as incomplete by the floyd haters and overrated by the floyd lovers. As a neutral boxing fan I see his legacy as great as he wanted it to be and if he beats Cotto then PAC and were to retire I'd have him close to my top 20 p4p if not in it

You could also say Ricky was a one-dimensional figther who was fighting out of his weight class, as was seen against Collazo.

No. Ortiz was a better win, he at least posed some stylistic challenges for Floyd with his fast hands/punching power.

Moseley was a better win too.

Cotto was beaten easily by Pac. Regardless of where you think Floyd stands vis a vis Pac he will beat Cotto with no problem.
