He also has a better trainer for him, and will have an actual corner in the fight. He may not be the same physically, but he has to be better mentally. You have to take both into consideration.

Cotto is shot, he struggled to effectively cut off the ring and bring consistant pressure to the 1 legged Rabbi Foreman. Cotto is done, didn't even look great against the 1 eyed Margarito.
I don't personally know if he is shot, and this upcoming fight will give us no indecation as I think a prime Cotto loses to Floyd, the only way to tell if he is shot is if he loses to someone who isn't in his league.
He is clearly not the fresh 140/147 pound version. But he has digressed from the beating in the margareto 1 bout. That fight itself kind of changed things in perspective, he has fought quality (which he lost again) and 1 or 2 good/medium type fighters from that loss. He is very tailor made for mayweather IMO.. a shot fighter is one who cannot even pull the trigger. Cotto is far from that.
No he isn't. Physically he is not as durable obviously due to Marg, Clottey & Pac fights and just the way he has fought over the years and his party lifestyle, but he is still easily a current top 10 P4P fighter. I would say boxing ability wise, he is still in his prime. A definition of a shot fighter is RJJ, James Toney, Eric Morales, K. Cintron
He's not the same fighter that he once was! We will see what he has left in the tank in the Mayweather fight.. If Floyd comes out and wins every round it will tell me that Cotto is totally shot to ****!
checkmate. Cotto isn't shot, he's damaged, older , past prime, but still looks like he has enough in the tank to give Floyd a competitive fight, but it's yet to be seen. He hasn't really beaten anybody noteworthy lately, and although he looked good in his last fight, he didnt look that good against a shot Mayorga. We'll just have to wait and see .
