I understand if you do 20+ round wars and bareknuckle matches that you will have a deformed face after a while but what about modern day boxing with it's safety guidelines?

I mean I've seen plenty of boxers whose face is a mess after a match but after a month or so they look just like before.

Mickey Rourke also claims boxing ruined his face

  2. Boxing did not ruin Mickey Rourke's face. Mickey Rourke's 30+ cosmetic surgeries ruined Mickey Rourke's face.

yes modern day boxing can deform you. look at margarito's and david reid's eye, or bernard hopkins face. it can also do a lot more than just disfigure you, it can damage your brain. look at jesus chavez vs lavender johnson (rip), or oscar diaz vs delvin rodriguez, to name just a few examples. the sound oscar diaz made before collapsing was really disturbing to me. boxing is my favourite sport, but it has a very dark side to it.

And yea dunno what the OP is talking about

You can obviously get your nose broken or have your ear ripped off or in extreme cases break eyesockets and such

    Depends on the punishment

    Margarito was fine...

Intill he met Pacquiao and now his eye is deformed for life.

May have been fine if the fight had been stopped

any type of physical activity where contact may occur has the possility of deforming you, check the cauliflower ears out on rugby players.

it doesn't have to be 'modern' boxing. Boxing in general can deform you.
