Completely depends on the fighter in question.

What kind of idiot would use his bum boxer dad as an example of how to get through floyds guard? can ponce de leon also rip through Floyds shoulder roll like he did to broner or can Alfonso Gomez rip through it like he did to Alvarez? every fighter is different. u seem to think thats his only defensive tactic and forget that Floyd switches to high guard often, moves his head and feet, he tiies u up, elbow shrugs, keeps his chin tucked and punches back with quick counters and sharp lead right hands. u act as if u have it all figured out. its easier said than done.

ideally a tall southpaw with range would be he antidote to floyds defence. the way you neutralise quickness is with a jab , tming and range. guys like wiliams, winky, spinks and forest would have been on of floyds radar- he knows theyd provide a challenge. not saying he wouldnt whoop them eventually, but theyd give him some work.

Seeing as Canelo might be fighting Floyd next, I would send them a vid of Leonard destroying a shoulder roll.

Canelo hits hard enough, add some feints, accurate, precise punching placement. I would target the side ab area, punch and shoot towards the back of floyds ears. Basically use brute force to slowly destroy him and win a UD as the agressor and clear destroyer of the fight.

That's what I would do, but i'm no trainer so what the **** do I know lol

Floyd Mayweather intertwines the shoulder roll into his rhythm and that's why when he's on the pads Roger touches his shoulder after EVERY combination. So, those moves are embedded into his game-plan, subconsciously, that's why he can do the pads with his eyes closed.

The best way to attack the shoulder roll is to NOT ATTACK the shoulder roll. As soon as he goes into the shell pop him with a jab or use it as rang finder until he comes out.

I've always felt like the best way to beat Floyd Mayweather is with a Jab because its the most versatile punch in Boxing.
