wouldn't work anyways...he could catch the jab with his glove and then roll away from the hook.

He is that quick and more importantly, that skilled.

I'll highlight everything marquez is doing wrong in this gif.

#1 He's throwing consecutive left hooks back to back to Floyds head. Those are never going to land.

After he threw the jab he should have brought a right hand down to the body, then maybe a left hook to the body followed by a right hand upstairs. Or he could have followed up the right to the body with a right to the head.

You never want to throw more then 2 punches at a time to Floyd head, because your not going to hit anything. You need to set up your head shot with your body shots first, or with jab / feint. There's a couple moments in the fight where Marquez feinted and then threw a lead right and landed flush..

It's all about punch placement and knowing where Floyd's going to be. In that position the only punch Floyd really has is his right hand, so as long as your aware of that and know where the counter is going to come from you can avoid it. Also be mindful of the left hook. Floyd always throws either a lead hook or a straight right. You can time those and come right back with a counter.

Back to the Leonard - FLoyd Sr fight, watch how he kept Mayweather in that position all night while he hammered away, placing his punches carefully - closing the gaps.

Marquez being so much smaller here doesnt help him at all either. His style and physical attributes would never give him a chance in that fight.

hook off the jab all night!! just throw that punch repeatedly for about 100 times each round and you would beat Floyd

No...your wrong...If you did it "repeatedly" he would eventually time you after the 2nd or 3rd time, and you would find yourself wobbly or on the canvas.

    Next one:deal

    :rofl:rofl:patsch

    Yea your way off:deal

Pacquiao makes more mistakes than Marquez though..JMM at least went the distance..Pacquiao would be knocked in 7...maybe 8 rounds...easy fight for Floyd as Pac throws to many "amatuer hooks," runs in to much, has a very short jab, stays off balance a lot of the time..

I'll tell you, your really getting owned in this forum..it's easy to pick on your ***** ass:deal:nut:hi:

Floyd treats every opponent differently, everyone knew marquez wasnt a threat, just a tune up. he basicly toyed with him. against someone like martinez he wouldn't just be standing in the middle of the ring blocking punches, hed be more mobile and sticking and moving.

through out the whole fight, Marquez probably only landed about 3 flush shots. like u said,"Marquez being so much smaller here doesnt help him at all. His style and physical dimensions would never give him a chance in that fight" u can try to imagine all of the punches u want, but at the end of the day, its easier said than done. u cant beat floyd by being a "thinker" with no physical advantages over him. ull end up looking like a lost child getting picked apart. and u still ignore the fact Floyd punches back!

You have to understand Floyd keeps himself in position to still land flush attacks too while he still is in defensive mode and those punches he does throw are sneaky and hurt...damn near dropped Oscar at 154 well he buckled him twice while he was on the defense on the ropes and snuk in two sharp rights to Oscar's head both stumbled him a good bit and that was his first fight at 154 and they were not full on bombs either just shots Oscar didnt see.

maybe wait until he exits his shoulder roll position or like someone said, pound the elbows and shoulder or hit him hard enough to the body until he starts protecting the body

It's not really the shoulder roll that is the problem, it's his elbow. Observed how he points his elbow when he is being attacked. At a distance, it's on his belly. But when his opponent gets inside, he points that shoulder to their faces. It's been caught but it's not his fault when your face collides with his elbow.this makes high energy attacks coming from the outside difficult to launch.

Punch that shoulder so hard he doesn't want to roll it anymore
