Rocky Graziano was very quick to go wild and slug, looped and telegraphed his punches and had pretty much no defense.

The exact same thing can be extended to 1st career George Foreman.

Yeah he was. I just watched him fight Mugabi the other day. Mismatch. And if memory serves correct, he was an early Hearns opponent as well.

What else he had was terrific conditioning, the best in the division. Dogged determination. And he had Freddie Brown in his corner and Vito did what he was told. How many guys can really fight a Hagler to a draw giving up that many disadvantages? Throw in 70 stitches after the fight. But there was Vito at the end and he was effective in there and prevented Marvin from looking and doing his best.

I went to a few of his fights and the guy always made his opponent fight his fight. He had a knack for leading a guy to where he wanted him, kind of like the Klitschko's. He didn't really back them straight up and overpower them, but manouvered them to that area. A very subtle skill to have.

And Vito would get busted up and it did not alter his game 1 iota. Lots of guys get busted up or swell up and change for the worse. The other thing with Vito was, his opponents sure had a way of not looking too good either at the end of the fight.
