I'd agree with that, but it's extremely rare. There have only been three very skilled super heavyweights in history, Riddick Bowe, Wladimir Klitschko and Lennox Lewis. You could argue that two of those lack intangibles too.

Bigger can be better but it very rarely is. There certainly isn't a new era of boxing.

He contradicts himself with his first sentance although i do agree with him to a degree. The division does have quality, just very little of it, actually just two pieces of quality named Wladimir and Vitali the rest of division is crammed with the following.

C level guys who are not going anywhere fast and will not present a challenge today or in the future to the current Klitschko reign.

Overweight guys who may be a challenge if they put a little bit of ****ing effort in.

Old guys from the last generation who are profiting from the poor state of this generation hoping to clinch one last big payday.

Or a combination of all the above.

 

I like what Tyson says, because as time goes on we will see an increasing number of larger skilled fighters entering the ring. It begs the question of whether a superheavyweight division will finally be implimented. I think 225+ would be a perfect cutoff.

 

I tend to agree with mike there and they have always been my points, vit and wlad are good fighters and it really is not there fault they are a class above. Thats why the division (IMO) is boring.

Would they be competative and win big fights against top names in different eras? Absolutley. Not necessarily dominate the division like they do now. But 100% competative at any level.

Although mike saying bigger and stronger etc meaning better, i tend to disagree. Boxing domain hit the nail on the head.

While these comments will probably be manna from heaven for some people, there shouldn't be any greater significance attached than there is to the usual "today's fighters are all bums" bollocks old-timers come out with.

Tyson is no stranger to exaggerated flattery - after he beat Holmes he stated that he wouldn't have stood a chance with a prime Holmes.

The argument that other sports have improved so boxing must have as well is lazy, and takes no account of the fundamental changes in the sport and how fighters are developed. If Rafa Nadal only played a handful of matches a year, and didn't face another top 10 player until he was 25, he'd probably struggle to beat Rod Laver.

 

Because Chisora didn't just stand there? Adamek was truely ****ing awful in his "fight" with Vitali.Chisora is naturally a bigger guy aswell and obv carries his weight better.

 

Tyson knows more then the ****** Klitschko haters.

Tyson himself stated everything that Klitschko fans have been stating for years. If you think you know more than Mike Tyson about boxing, then you're just delusional.
