Which of these Heavyweight Champs got the LEAST gift decisions?

    We all know gift decisions happen in boxing, also in Heavyweight Boxing.
    I made a list of the big Heavyweight Champs of the past and the gift decisions they got in my opinion:
    Jack Dempsey and Jack Johnson don't belong on this list cause they didn't fight black top fighters when they held the title. That's like accepting that the Klitschkos don't have to fight black fighters.

    So we start with
    This content is protected

    - got a gift decision against Arturo Godoy
    - got a gift decision against Jersey Joe Walcott in their first fight

    Now we have
    This content is protected

    - got a gift decision against Roland La Starza in their first fight

    Now we will go to
    This content is protected

    - got 1 or 2 gift decisions against Ken Norton, depending on how you score the fights.
    - got a gift decision against Jimmy Young
    - quite some pple also say he got a gift decision against Doug Jones

    Now we have
    This content is protected

    - got a gift decision against Tim Witherspoon
    - got a gift decision against Carl "The Truth" Williams

    Now we have
    This content is protected

    no gift decisions. The closest fight I had him in (which went the distance) was the Chisora fight, but I had Vitali Klitschko winning by 2 points. (the judges' scorecards were way too wide)

    Now we have
    This content is protected

    No gift decisions.


    I did this list basically off the top of my head so if anybody has to add some gift decisions of the listed fighters, let me know, I will add them.

    I'd strongly dispute that the following were "gifts":

    Louis-Godoy - scored it a close win for Louis
    Ali-Norton II and III - both could go either way
    Clay-Jones - Clay clearly won
    Holmes-Witherspoon - could go either way
    Holmes-Williams - slight edge to Holmes

    I haven't seen Marciano-LaStarza, so can't really comment.

    A fight which could go either way shouldn't be called a gift, nor should a fight where the favourite clearly won but looked rubbish doing so.

    Not sure how meaningless esoterics make the Klitschkos look good, but if that's what floats your boat...

    seeing as this is a troll attempt I'm going to attempt to troll you.

    Wlad vs Carlos Monroe, Wlad won by DQ, this was Wlad 4-0 4 KO, if Wlad wasn't gifted the win then why take him on again when 20-0 20-0 19 KO?

    absolutely ridiculous. Godoy soundly outboxed Joe Louis and Ali AT LEAST got one gift decision against Norton. Clay-Jones: yeah maybe it wasnt a gift, but a lot of people DO SAY it was a gift decision.
    and no way did Larry Holmes win against Witherspoon or Williams.
    I havent seen Marciano vs LaStarza either cause there seems to be no footage available, but pretty much all who saw the fight (including all boxing historians) say that LaStarza won this fight.

    The Klitcshkos have never received a decision that should have gone the other way

    I will say though that Holmes has cried robbery both times vs Spinks and vs McCall

    Ive heard good cases for Holmes in Spinks 2 and vs McCall

    Dude, did you watch Holmes vs Spinks 2? Cause I did. The rounds were easy to score. Holmes won the first 5 or 6 rounds clearly with his jab, and lost all the other rounds pretty clearly. For whatever reason, Spinks did whatever he wanted to do after the 6th round. (He probably adapted) So the best I can see for Holmes is losing the fight 9 rounds to 6 or 8 rounds to 7 if I am being generous. None of the Spinks vs Holmes fights were robberies.

    the thing is this: you kids dont like the truth. Thats why you try to troll in threads like this one cause the truth hurts too much for you little kids.
    I am stating facts, nothing more and nothing less. But I can understand that you dont know what I am talking about in this thread, cause you kids never ever watched a fight before the Tyson era, so why would I expect that you saw and scored Louis vs Godoy or Holmes vs Witherspoon?

    You are just trying to make the Klitschos look good. The truth is the competition in some of those era's were very tough, and close decision would go to the champions.
    No I did not see the Louis vs Godoy fight, I watched Holmes vs Witherspoon I have it on VHS in my collection that I'm put on DVD. I went to the drive-in with my father to watch the replay of Ali/Frazier I. I've been watching boxing for a while, I like to watch fighters fight and boxers box. That's what I call excitement the Klitschos in my opinion are neighter, they're big guy that use their height and reach to run and catch smaller fighters lunging. If they stood in and slipped punches then it would be different.
