All too often the sportsman we're speaking of (let's just use sportsman for the moment), do get away with issues which are pertinent.
In fact they more often than not get away with far more than the regular bogan, simply because they have money.

I wouldnt have a clue who is a bogan & who is not, although, generally if they are respectful in public, come across as well spoken & a credit to their sport, show their sport in a positive way, are a good role model to the younger generations etc., then i would not attatch any negatives to such a person

When i see a bunch of racist, homophobic, ignorant idiots on a website ala Ty, then i would think it ironic that he/they calling a person like Danny Green a "bogan" ( something negative)

Self promotion in Australian sport is essential, and often the only thing that will gain an athlete media attention, and as a consequence public recognition.

Like them or hate them, Danny Green and Anthony Mundine were masters at self promotion. You need to do a bit more than wear a purple boa around to make it work for you though.
