Mate you can not be serious.

He is so far behind on every issue its not even funny.

They have a great game and he just has no clue.

One of the biggest mistakes was the not taking a percentage from the gambling which was one direct payout of 5 million dollars instead of if he had have gone the other way he would get 19 million on average from TAB every year.

Then there was the **** up of the TV deal.

Then theres the way they have handled the Salary Cap.

Then theres the fact that he doesnt do **** about players leaving the game for Union or AFL now.

    Should i go on.

The AFL keeps getting stronger and stronger.

Did you know in the early 1990's both Rugby League and AFL was on Par.

Heres AFL Membership numbers for 2011 and 2010
    Collingwood (71,271) - (57,408)
    Hawthorn (56,224) - (53,978)
    Adelaide (44,719) - (45,545)
    Carlton (43,791) - (40,480)
    West Coast (43,216) - (44,160)

Lower end of the Scale in Rugby League Land
    of the AFL
    Sydney (27,106) - (28,671)
    Brisbane (20,792) - (26,779)
    Gold Coast (11,141)

Now on average a AFL Membership is $150

    NRL Membership numbers 2011
    Dragons (19,055)
    Souths (19,885)
    Brisbane (14,638)
    Bulldogs (13,584)
    Eels (11,110)

Anyway my point is that the AFL reward fans for buying memberships and it brings huge money for the club and what gets me is both.

Sydney Swans outsold the Biggest NRL club and the Brisbane Lions outsold the mighty Broncos.

Gallop and the NRL has no clue how to run things.

Cos you do the maths on what 70,000 members at Collingwood at a average of $150 per membership well ill answer it for the non math guru's.
It brings the Magpies $10.5 Million to the club.

Souths got over 20K in membership last season, and Brisbane got well over 13 also. Your point still stands though. :good

He'd be the buy of the season.
Off contract next season, and is a work horse who hurts the opposition. Though he came off on the wrong end of a few last week, but he's a great talent.

Regarding the gambling payments through corporate bookmakers, i think you have it buggered up

The criticism is that they should have done what racing has been doing & forcing the Bookies to put the 1.5% of turnover ( not profits) into a trust account, seeing as the STC or whatever they are now won, that cash gets released etc, League still stands to get massive payouts per year now that they have followed up on opportunity, so the critisicism is that League didnt act soon enough, however Gallop has explained it, he is a highly experienced lawyer & an expert in corporate law etc, i'm pretty sure he was on the ball, although its hard to compare League & racing & betting turnover

As far as membership & general revenue goes, AFl & League have completely different cultures, for many years League didnt have to really rely on membership as a signifigant source of revenue, AFL to their credit siezed upon it & its proven fruitful, Rugby League has been slow on the uptake but being a fair way behind are still catching up, but its been growing every year & thats positive

For many years as we know League, or many of the clubs relyed on liscensed leagues club as a massive source of income, but then we all know what has happened to a whole lot of pubs & clubs & what is likely to get worse, with the no smoking policies & increased poker machine taxes coming into effect, that revenue has no longer been forthcoming, thats just the way it is, not many people saw it coming & didnt predict it would hit as hard as it did, so obviously rugby Leagues clubs do have to search for new streams of revenue, its an ongoing concern where membership is vital, some clubs have been pretty **** & slow to realise, but as i said, most have increased & continue to grow

I think Rugby League is being run well

Membership has been growing every year, maybe its not as fast as some would like but growth is growth

The independant commision finally got off the ground, its what everyone wanted & seems to be harmonious at this stage

Projected TV deal of $1.2 Billion, sure its speculative, but lets see what happens

League players going to AFL??..big ****, the League should never pander to that ****, i dont think they even really got signifigant players, if they can be happy racially profilling two polynesian players & then work out they're ****, more fool them, League hasnt missed them one bit, new players that are just as good if not better had replaced them almost imediately

Gallop gets bagged alot, cant be the easiest gig in the world, under the circumstances i think he does pretty well, its a volatile atmosphere, the Australian sporting landscape & there will always be critics, which is a good thing, & nobody will ever be 100% happy, but i think it could be much worse

I reckon the Titans are going to beat the Eagles, you watch these ****s **** me over!!!

Titans starting their strongest squad in 2 years and Manly still missing players. It all equals Mead bending them over and putting 4 tries on em :smoke

Terrible game last night...saints attack annoys me no end.

The knights are just slow in everything the do. They might still come good. I like that new half back they used last night....kid is going to alright. Tough bugger. Whats his name???

How about the Broncos. Lockyer's departure seems to have had no effect on them. The Bennett magic hasn't seemed to have worked at Drugcastle. **** 2nd half but a wins a win PJ.

I hope the Knights fall on their arse. I can't stand Boyd and for all the hype that **** gets and unrightly so, he doesn't play as good as the commentators dictate.

He's a ****ing mediocre player and he looks pretty average at Newcastle, I think Bennet is going to try make him out to be the next Lockyer, moving him to 5/8th before next year.
