    Shawn O'Sullivan

    Toronto, Canada

    1984 Olympic Star
    156 lb. Silver Medal Winner
    Sugar Ray Leonard protoge'

Turns pro on October 10, 1984
    Wins 11 straight, 11-0-0 (8 KO's)

Gets pushed in with Simon Brown on National Television on June 18, 1980
Gets bombed out and loses by a TKO 3.

The Star 'crashes and burns' after 20-months.

Does come back with 6 straight wins over fringe contenders, including
Chris Clarke and Darryl Anthony, but suffers big upset losses in early-1988
    to Luis Sanatana 1/13/88 (L KO 11) and Donovan Boucher 3/23/88 (L KO 2).

Career pretty much over after 20-bouts, with a record of 17-3-0 (12 KO's).

If England we had middleweight Errol Christie.
He had an outstanding amateur record.

It took 2 or 3 defeats at least to convince the hype machine to settle down on building up Christie.

great pick. he was one of the few canadian boxers this country got behind. we got behind him so much we through him in with someone the quality of brown after almost no real pro career to speak of. who's to say what he would have done but he was nowhere near ready for that

considering he's a top 10 all time heavyweight, that's not too bad for a "crash and burn". a lot of boxers would LOVE to crash and burn with that kind of legacy :good

    Foreman
Marciano (on achivement, H2H I have him a fair bit lower)
    Frazier

Not sure what they were thinking up there above the Northern-Belt.

Ray Leonard pushing the 24 year-old Shawn 'way too fast'.

Only a professional for 20-months, 11-bouts and 45-rounds of ring experience.
Had gone only 8 Rounds twice, and 6-Rounds once.

Taking on Simon Brown at the C.N.E. Coliseum in Toronto in June 1986.

Looks like they took the 'short money' to get him some National TV
    exposure.

One Bad Mistake,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,they could have fought Horace Shufford,
Manning Galloway or Veabro Boykin instead, for the same $$$.
