:yep Like him or hate him Joe definitely had the Italian heart. Is Nino Benvenuti still considered the best from Italy? Extremely talented and humanitarian from what
    I've read.

I would say Duilio Loi is the best......

As for the Calzaghe thing.....I doubt the italians cared to him.....
Italians rarely see as their own people the foreigners with italian ancestry.....

We have a lot of south americans with italian heritage and never heard nothing about the italians considering they as one of their own....

When I was checking for news on Italian boxing on Sportitalia's website, Saw some **** on Paulie Malignaggi, They said something about considering Paulie one of their own, Anyways apparently Paulie is gonna be training over in Italy for the Senchenko fight, The article was mostly about them getting him in for an interview on this boxing show they call " Knock out ".

    Ironic.

It makes sense him training over there since he won't have to adjust to the time difference before the fight.

How recent is Paulie's ancestry? Mother/Father? Grandfather/Grandmother? Even farther back? He visits Italy a lot so I'd assume it's recent.

I think he has a lot of family there, not sure exactly.

Oh, to the poster earlier on talking about a Golden Boy signing, that is Phil Lo Greco, an undefeated welterweight from Italy. I think he might even be Paulie's cousin, they are definitely related.

    :good

Alms and Khattab are definetly promising. Khattab who is 19, has the same trainer Kessler had (From when Kessler was 14 - after Ward fight)

Alms opponent was 5-6 to be precise. Alms is also older than Khattab (26) And have close to 200 amateur fights, so should be able to move him fast.

Im suprised Alms didnt end up with Sauerland :think (Good, and part German)
Both Poulsen and Bruun was with Sauerland in the last 7-8 fights but have been dropped as you can see.

Both Bruun and Poulsen seemed to have improved a bit. Not that I believe more than I already said in them, but Bruun looked stronger physically and mentaly now. Poulsen also seemed a bit improved bit.

The promoter of this show (With the aim of building a rival stable to Sauerland in Denmark) is Kesslers manager btw.

    :lol::good

Trying to introduce Italian boxing to many fight fans on here. 95 % know little or nothing about it beyond Italian-American Stuff ( Gatti, Malignaggi ) which isn't what the threads about.

Yep, I'd love to see him verses world class guys, He has real skill and physical power, While he doesn't seem like a KO artist he does have natural power and a lot of stamina, He could be a solid contender.
