I was about to say the same, but re-distributing the same small number of fighters over different weight classes won't make that much of a difference. I'm sure the numbers will grow over time, the exposure at the Olympics might help with that.

Yep it's really that shitty, although Ann Wolfe and Lucia Rijker were some badass chicks who could actually fight and throw punches like men. Meaning with power, speed and correct technique.

you can say thats comparable also... But Ward has all the technical skills which Ali didnt, but in comparison you could say she was the BEST SKILLED female boxer in the SuperMids/Lt. Hvywts. What stuck most in my mind is Ward's B level power, where Ali has A, near to A+ power, in comparison.

A good bunch of the stoppages where due to an accumulation of punches, but that in itself, was attributed to Ali's power in her 'crackin right' and her Shock&Awe close-out ability... she ended with a 24 wins, 21 KO career

Go from 17 to the original 8 weight classes in women's boxing. Just like that, a whole lot better match-ups and, if they wanted to, fans of male boxing would be much more likely to spark an interest in it.

Have you ever seen Christina Cruz? I highly suggest you do.

4 time NYC Golden Gloves champ. Puerto Rican from manhattan 112-119lber. #1 ranked in the US. She resembles a man more than any other female boxer I've ever seen.

Future and last hope for female boxing. I've never seen a female boxer with that kind of natural movement and footwork before. It seems like all of her fights are easy boxing lessons.

I think what defines a woman boxer from "women" is the confidence and forcefulness in their punches. When a person is able to "switch" their mentality from looking to "touch" someone to looking to "hurt" or do "damage" someone, thats when you see a true commitment and power focused into the punches. There has been few women that can switch and also apply it with technique and skill. Ali was that, after getting 8 fights under her belt...

I hope Cruz the best, and im sure she'll garnish more confidence in her punches and gain in better technique over time. Im VERY sure, she isn't the last.... its a beginning

This gives me a great idea for a new Martin Lawrence movie... Kinda like Million Dollar Baby meets Big Mommas House...

Oddly, there has been a bundle of Laila Ali fight clips popping up on Youtube. Use to not have any fights except a german one... Wonder if the rights propietors stop aggressively pursuing or expressed interest?

  10. Bitches should not be fighting. Fighting is for men and cooking and cleaning is for bitches.
Plus, them bitches all look like lesbians anyway.

I really don't see where you're going here.

Considering she fights at 112lbs and her lanky build she gets incredible leverage on her shots. Including vicious bodywork.

Again, we're talking 112lbs here. But clearly you didnt watch the videos posted.

Oh, i definitely did. There were alot of wide shots, for leverage reasons. But then again, they were wide shots. She looks to be a great fighter, and im sure she will be. And im sure there's always room for growth and improvement in towards being greater than she is now...
