The thing annoying thing with this is that it's so simple to sort. Have the state athletic commissions set fixed fees for fights based on purse or expected revenue of the fight and have them dole that fixed number out to the judges and referees.

Or am I missing something much more complicated here?

DiBella I can honestly say is the only promoter I actually like, being that he's the least scummy of the bunch.

I wonder what amenities the Judges for the PAC fight got, cause they robbed JMM on the highest level of boxing not some small espn show...

They must be rolling in dough and still enjoying the benefits of Arum's "it's just business"

Lou's spot-on...'n to avoid any hint of corruption, the promoter greets the judge or ref in a limo at the airport; and all the way to his four-star hotel, the promoter keeps saying: "All I want is a fair shake;" and "perhaps you could join my assistant Barbara and I,'n her friend Trixie, later for dinner 'n drinks at the Michelin-rated restaurant in the hotel"

Lou was an insider at HBO. Doesn't hurt if you know where the bodies are buried

Plus having Al Haymon as a manager helps in that regard as well.

yeah...seemed like haymon and kerry davis are tight and greenburg listened to whatever davis said.

i don't think davis has much influence now since greenburg is gone, hershman is in who hired hauser as his "adviser."

Even if DiBella didn't really twit this message, it's the truth. The promoters' influence judges exactly as described in that twitter message.

The judges are usually people with day jobs who rely on their boxing stints to escape life's boredom and letdowns. Getting to go to Vegas to officiate a big match is a judge's perk in life. No judge wants to get blackballed because he voted against the promoter's fighter. This is always a big reason why robberies occur.

Of course it's true. Surely there are FAR more tricks hidden as well. Robberies don't happen for no reason.
