Now they are running out of opponents. One of them fought a bum who came from the Cruzerweight Division last month and knocked him out easily. It was a totally mismatch but Klitschko took that fight. What a big joke! They will hurt their legacy if they keep fighting no name fighters so they should retire while they are World Champions.

It should be up to them. If they retire together it should be celebrated. Two brothers ruling heavyweights this long is amazing. I've rooted agianst them each a few times, rooted for each a few times. I am not their biggest fan, but appreciate them and what they did.

When Pete Rose and his team were on top, I hated him and team for silly reasons, I won't get into. Now I regret not appreciating him back then. Same for some other sports figures. Rooting agaisnt them is fine, if someone wishes. To totally hate them, and put them down constantly, is silly. I don't like Mayweather, and he is not all time great, but he is as close to great as it gets at lighter weights, I have come to appreciate him, and can root against him, but enjoy his performance if he wins.

Years from ow, if sports writers are fair, these two will be sports heros. They should be now.

yes, just last night he couldn't KO a CW who is #62 according to Boxrec

he'd pose a huge challange for Vitali, no doubt

It is not K2's problem that none in their era is competitive. Time will make them great as so many other great fighters before them. Most other greats were also not appreciated in there present time.

    no and here's why.

i'd rather have them beat up these bums than be subjected to watch bum on bum violence.

Why should they retire? They are doing just fine. I think they should go for it as long as they still "got it."

They're both fighting twice a year, making $4-6 million Dollars per fight. That's 10 million a year, individually. Then they have marketing and endorsement contracts that probably pay more while they're active. Probably another $2-3 million a year per brother.

If you make $12.5+ million a year for fighting twice a year and smiling into the cameras, while getting in the ring with low-risk opponents who aren't up to the task.. why in God's name would you retire?

I think Vitali should consider hanging them up soon - he possibly has one or two decent showings left in him. Wlad on the other hand could go on for another 2 years or so. The issue is that they will simply run out of competition.

I shudder to think what we would be left with if the brothers retired tomorrow. Without them, the HW would perhaps be the weakest division of all time. With them, it's just barely ok. Frankly to have Haye, Chisora, Adamek, Helenius and Fury duking it out for the titles... well, there might be a bit of fun in there, but it would be a horrible level af boxing.
