If Haye were to do the Valuev keep away strategy maybe, he would have a severe height and speed advantage and his power isnt on the level of the Rock but its very good

Marciano went down in plenty of fights and Haye could probably do it too

but Marciano was hard to keep down and hard to keep away for 15 rounds

Marciano also is not as crude as some here so easily throw out, his defensive skills were quite good and he fought in a good crouch where he could duck and slip shots while springing to throw his with added power

i really dont know who to pick and i hate Haye

Rocky would win on activity alone. He had far better stamina and technique than Haye and wasn't likely to get ko'ed.

    Sorry, I over stated myself.

This is what I do believe.

A lot of ***gots get gooey for a guy who fought old men because he went undefeated and had the name Rocky.

Haye's stamina is awful, and he'd be drained at CW anyway, so I'm going to say stoppage by the Rock unless Haye just totally stinks the joint out by running and holding all night long. Carl the Cat, Lolenga Mock and that bald Italian guy, I forget his name, all had success pushing him back with their pressure, I can't see Marciano not having similar success unless he gets badly cut or waved off after a knockdown. Under old school rules it'd be a murder.

Interesting to note, though, that even at CW Haye would have a near 20lb weight advantage over Rocky.

They both could hurt each other but Rocky was cut prone and Haye I believe would win the fight on cuts in mid rounds.

Marciano was only down twice, and for a career total of about 6 or 7 seconds. Walcott dropped him for a 4 count, and Moore got a flashknock down that added up to a 2 or 3 count.

I agree, Marciano is not nearly as crude as people like to say, and he was actually a decent counter puncher.

Haye doesn't have the best chin and I think Marciano would've gotten to him with some of his bombs. The Rock's right was always a big danger as he had 1 punch KO power in it, and his left was always a threat because when he landed clean and hard with it, oponents were almost always hurt by it.

I see Haye picking up the early rounds with relative ease because Marciano was a slow starter and Haye is very fast, but by the mid rounds Marciano would have picked up the pace, increased the pressure, and started landing more punches. By round 9 or 10 Haye would be battered and finally be dropped by Rocky's onslaught.

An older Charles, an walcott would school the brakes off of Haye, Marciano would cut him down. Nobody Haye has fought has the grit of Rocco.

David Haye against Marciano, come on, for real. Haye would change his name to David HELP in this slaughter.
Marciano is one of the hardest HW champions, During those days boxing was much harder than today.
Sorry mr Haye, you´re out! ( but I do hope you beat the K brothers someday)

There would be shards of Glass in the upperdeck of the arena from Haye's fragile Glass Jaw.

It would be a boring fight anyway Haye would be on his bike the whole fight just trying to not get KOed.

Haye doesn't have the lungs to last the pace with Rocky.

Haye had power at CW but it was the type of power that stunned or dropped fighters who weren't expecting it, but didn't totally put their lights out Ezra Sellers style. It was more the speed and explosivity of the shots rather than their heaviness that did in the majority of his upper level opponents. Nonetheless, if you could absorb it and continue to push him back his threat level rapidly diminished.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Marciano dropped or cut at some point, which might be worries for him under modern rules, but providing he's allowed to fight through a bit of perceived discomfort I see him wearing down Haye and either battering him into submission or catching him with a fight stopping shot.

With todays nutritional strategys I actually think Marciano would be a light heavyweight, rehydrating to his fighting weight of around 185, remember Rocky has same day weigh ins for his fights. He would be a big light heavy and with his punching power he would be absoloutely beast.

Going up against Haye as a cruiserweight would no doubt be a tough task, Haye would be the much bigger man, and a hard puncher in his own right. We know about Marcianos chin but could he really take bombs off of Haye? We should also clear it up that Marciano wasn't a crude brawler, he would smartly cut off space with great lateral movement and land his shots from angles that you didn't see coming, I think both Haye and Marciano would be making each other miss quite often, however this would just play into Rockys hands with his superior stamina and work rate.

I think the Suzie Q would eventually eclipse The Hayemaker and find its marker on Hayes chin in the second half of the fight, Marciano may hit the deck early but no doubt he would have the heart and chin to rise and eventually wear Haye down. The Thompson fight is actually a decent comparison to go on of a smaller man being in trouble but going on to expose Hayes stamina flaws and stop him. You have to think the difference in class between Marciano and Thompson would counter Haye being green in that loss, plus he never really patch up any stamina issues and just paced himself in future fights.

David Haye complained of a Toe. Marciano pulled off wins over some of the most schooled seasoned atgs with half his face ripped off in one of the most brutal eras. Why are we talking about this again?
