Now obviously Rios is just one of many fighters who all of a sudden have become hypejob disgraces but how does this exactly work? was it Rios's fault that he got a gift? same goes with Pacquiao after the 3rd fight with Marquez there was all of a sudden lots of hate for a fighter who was previously well liked and respected.

*Just to be clear I am not comparing Manny Pacquiao with fat bum and all round disgrace Bum Bum Rios in any other ways except for making my original point.

    Rios aint even make weight

  4. It's the way Rios was held aloft and celebrated. He knew the fix was in, and he was completely shameless in claiming the victory.

Plus Rios is a **** for his disgraceful mocking of Freddie Roach's disease.

Don't like them pretending they won even after they just got schooled. This is boxing not hollywood.

To make it worse I don't think think there will even be a rematch. Rioz is too damn fat and will move up

You make a valid point. People do.

I remember people turning on Holyfield for a while after the first Lewis fight. The issue for me with Rios is that he was being hyped before this even though he can be one dimensional. Also, he hasn't made weight twice in a row now and people ssee this as an unfair advantage. If he moved up to a division he arguably should be at anyway, would he still be as effective?

You're right though. In general if a fighter gets a win he shouldn't have, they usually get flack on here.

I honestly haven't liked him since he made fun of Roach's Parkinson's, last night didn't make me dislike him more. But it did make me dislike the powers in boxing more, a boxers career is so easily influenced in a negative way.

    Probably true.
And Rios didn't make weight for the second time in a row. Its not like he is some super cut dude.

Its not so much about the weight then it is aout the fact that he believes he won the fight.

He's got plenty of fat on him and it's also not like he's old and shot that he can't work off those extra pounds.

how I see it too. James Kirkland impressed me a lot with the way he reacted after his last fight. I gained a bunch of respect for him

I agree with everything that has been said, I think you have to look at each individual case on it own merit. and the nature of the gift decision. The thing is yes Holyfield got the decision over Lennox but because the second fight was closer people soon forgot,
If Rios moved up in weight and beat some top guys everyone would soon forget it. It's just in sport especially boxing your only as good as your last performance, and us as fans don't like to be made fools of it's a fickle world we live in.
