Boxrec seems to rank who they want without any rules what so ever. A few years back they droped Rusland Chagaev for being inactive after only 8 months, Sultan Ibragimov after only 7 months. But they keep ranking Evander Holyfield in their top 20 tho he's not fought for a full year and has no upcoming fight even in the works!:fire Shame on you Boxrec!:deal
On May 8th Holyfield will be out, that's how it always works. Fighters get removed if they are out for a year or announce their retirement
2011-05-07 Brian Nielsen. But yes, boxrec has a horrible rating system. Chad Dawson went from 680 points to 1200 points after the Hopkins TKO. Hopkins fell below Dawson and Pascal wich makes no ****ing sense.
But they dont follow that rule. Chagaev was droped just a few months after the Valuev fight. He had been out for two months even with the Skelton fight signed and posted.
Yeah. . . I agree. . Although I do think some type of purely objective formula should be implicated, there should also be a subjective aspect as well, so "TKO's" like Dawson over Hopkins are accounted for. . . A purely subjective system is open to mischief, and just is too determinative on "opinions", and a purely objective "formula" is too "black and white."
Agree completely. According to their all time ranking Wladimir would be at #7 and Vitali would be tied for #8 with Harry Wills while Lewis, Frazier, Tyson, and Foreman don't even crack the top 10. What a load.
How else can you rank every single heavyweight active in the last 12 months? You cant expect someone to watch every fight of all 1127 heavyweights. It needs to be done by some sort of algorithm. The rankings are based on results rather than any sort biased view or opinions
