I think he sounds more paranoid than homophobic personally.

It's clear in the little bite he took about the cardigans, with the ''it's obvious I had a girlfriend'' stuff.

Newsflash - gay people quite often have girlfriends, because they don't want to face the truth about themselves, not that there's anything wrong with it mind.

One of my mates has a gay cousin, and he's shagged more women than practically anyone I know - he probably went through 100 whilst at uni, so including before and after that up until he came out about a year ago he's probably closer to 200 now.
