Since Abril has gotten much respect and is finally a recognized solid fighter who do you think will win in a battle of Cuba vs Cuba between him and Gamboa?

I got Gamboa by late TKO or wide UD, too fast, too slick and too powerful.

    :bbb

They both lose. Gamboa doesn't show up, and Abril has no one to hug and hold.

    I pick Cuba.

Gamboa wins, he's no where near as one dimensional as Rios is.

no votes for Abril??? I thought that he may get some votes after seeing him give Rios a lesson, guess when it comes to Gamboa is a whole different story huh?

Abril size may give Gamboa some problems until he finds his way in,But it could be closer than what must people think.
I still want to see Gamboa against a decent LW
    Styles make a fight, remember.

I'll take Gamboa...styles make fights and I don't think Abril would be able to put much of any leather on Gamboa.

Like always, good observation Kid. Abril is very underrated and with his reach and size can give anyone problems. But even though Gamboa is only 5'5 he should have no problems here, he is very used to fighting tall guys back in the Cuban schools.

If Selby was able to put Gamboa on his arse in sparring and beat him to the point where YG's team had to boot Lee out of the gym and steal his Dre's then I'd HATE to see what Abril would do.

Bro, you got carried away with just a training session. Sparring is just sparring, the real fight is where is at.

Lee Selby. Sparred with Gamboa in Mayweather's gym, landed some good shots and ended up flooring Yuriorkis (no big deal, that's sparring, it happens). However, Gamboa's team then stopped the session, kicked Selby out of the gym and stole his Dre's.

Now the Gamboa fans want to act like that's normal for a sparring session

At the wild card you get $1000 dollars for flooring Manny. Knock Gamboa down and you get booted out the gym and your Dre's get stolen. Make of that what you will.
