Alvarez jabs and springs back to the outside. Very little action this round. Saunders pushes a jab and then chops ahead with the right hand as Alvarez scurries away. Long jabs from outside by Alvarez. Saunders approaches cautiously, guard up. Nice starchy hook by Alvarez. Saunders keeps edging in and jabbing out of his guard. Left hook, right hand combo by Alvarez. Big flurry to the head by Alvarez to close the round. Saunders stands still, earmuffs on and riding it out until the bell.

Round 8

Jab high, corkscrewed right to the hip, hook to the face by Alvarez. Big straight flurry of head shots by Alvarez, bending his knees and teeing off all over Saunders!! Lefts and rights rattling off Saunders' gloves and head!! Saunders comes back now, jabbing and chopping with the right. Alvarez steps off the gas and backs up, confidently pumping his jab and not bothered by having been unable to hurt Saunders. Jab to the throat and chopping right to the side of the head by Saunders. Alvarez backs out and picks off some jabs on his right glove, then lands a STIFF jab to the chin that turns Saunders' head. Alvarez puts his shoulders up and hops around, jabbing high. Quick straight soft flurry by Alvarez. Saunders tries to hook at him up close and is countered back by a right hand. STIFF counter jab to the mouth by Alvarez as Saunders overreaches with his own jab. Alvarez dances around and force feeds Saunders his jab. Double hook to the body by Alvarez. 1-2 to the guard. Saunders keeps coming, reaching and missing his jab.
