At the same time it could be argued that like Jack Johnson, like Ali..."certain people" don't like when "others" step out of line and speak their mind and live the life they want to live.

 Floyd is America. So America is a coward. No wonder America is afraid of North Korea...they're little Asian midgets :patsch. It's all Floyds fault .

Lots of people dislike Floyd because he behaves like a moron. It's a simple as that. He'd get similar dislike if he was any other ethnicity.

With Ali etc. They were times where there was rampant discrimination against black folk and they were looked down on by others. So I agree with your point, it just doesn't apply to Floyd. He's a dick. He's not the worst person in the world, but most people find it difficult to warm to him.

I use to like him for his personality and talent.

Now it's more so just on talent.

Ah, should have been more specific. I'm not on the race thing. So I wasn't even going that root. Johnson and Ali were two great examples for people that got in trouble for going against the grain. Of course them being of "color" I guess didn't help and I could see why I should have been more specific.
Just talking about people in general, but it would still be "specific," who don't like others that are able to live a life they couldn't lead, don't have the balls to lead, or just plain disagree with how someone else wants to live their life.

Personally, it's his life. He seems to have a good side and another side I don't favor. But it's his life.

If you don't want to support him its simply down to not paying for his fights.

He is talented inside the ring. That's why I started to watch him way back when he was at 130. But back then he was "Pretty Boy Floyd"...and not "Money May"

Now if I would like him if I never heard of him before and just got into boxing now....that's an interesting thought. Skill wise, yes...but would I feel more uneasy rooting for him?
    I don't know.
I still admire "talent" but personality is big too. But there are so many stories, good and bad, about the guy. So really, other than the big ego thing which it kinda takes to have one if you are going to rise that high...I have to say, being good and bad is...well.."normal"

But without looking deep, and only looking at it from a shallow point of view...I do have to remember that It's not like he works in a hospital and tends to the sick. He beats people up for a living.

So beating up people for a living and being a dick seems...well...logical.
Much more logical than say, someone that says they follow a philosophy that preaches love, peace, humility, and turning the other cheek...yet beats people up for a living for money while living it up big time like Warlord....Mmmm, not sure that makes sense.
But hey...we are all a work in progress. And sometimes we have to do what we gotta do. Or something like that.

I don't know. I'm trying to figure out my own damn life.

Floyd is the most insecure and childish elite level athlete of all time. He is a deeply troubled and unhappy guy, very possibly a repressed homosexual.

He should look to his friend, boxings greatest role model Andre Ward for a few pointers in how to conduct himself :deal

He doesn't care if you root for him. Most haters buy his PPV's and that's all he wants. Cos tbh he always gets the job done.

He was crying because he was reflecting on how hard his training camp was.

Regular folk shouldnt make too many attempts to understand exceptional human beings.

He was crying because he was hiding deep insecurities and was able to let it go as he has finally won the fight.

He needs attention and the only way he can get it is to play a part he may not even want a piece off.

WHo knows, maybe Floyd is really just an ordinary guy who can be chummy without media attention. But once he knows the camera rolls, he gets in character, plays the villain and acts an ******* to ensure bankroll.

Nope he was talking about his training camp. Floyds pushes himself unbelievably when he trains and its why he got emotional.

Its why he retired for awhile. His training camps are insane and thats why he doesnt like to fight often. His camps take alot out of him emotionally.
