It does under the circumstances. If Crolla was trapped on the ropes taking a beating then fair enough but he'd just turned him and got clipped on the way out. He had his hands up and he was looking right back at Matthews, bizarre decision.

Should that have counted as a KD? Looked like his glove touched down.

Some quality work from DeGale, particularly when he puts his punches together. Sanavia isn't up to much at this age, but he's gotten some good shots in. 3-0 to DeGale.

Looked like Degale got KD there:think

  10. I think everyone is agreed that it was a **** stoppage.... but Crolla really needs to go back to the drawing board with a better trainer who can teach him to harness his boxing ability rather than simply sending him out to block punches with his face.

Gallagher is becoming a danger, almost a Vince Cleverly level danger, to his fighters.

We've seen Murray banged up and stopped twice, we've seen Quigg decked by light hitting opponents and now Crolla hurt badly multiple times by an average hitter in Mathews.

Simon Grayson is better at teaching defence than that ****er, it's ridiculous.

Chunky off balance. Do you think you can get Tizer in Denmark? Maybe he had a can or two whilst warming up.

I disagree he wasn't really hurting Mathews there is a big thing with protecting fighters all crolla had to do was hold or cover up its his own fault. I'm sure the experience will make him better. Built up to high though world class no chance.

he must have heard the 10 second warning, even if he didn't then Crolla had already taken the best shot and was covering up well, Matthews only really landed glancing blows leading to the stoppage.

If I was George Groves I'd fight DeGale again asap.

Completely disagree, it makes a big difference from a common sense POV. The ref should have an idea of how long is left in a round and if it makes sense to see it through to the end and allow a minutes recovery it should be done and if the guy looks no better in the next round stop it then. Especially in a fight like that. Common sense refereeing, its what we need and very rarely get, we were robbed of a very good fight that in my opinion was still 50/50 or only slightly leaning towards Derry at that point.
