Ignoring the time element (which doesn't bother me, because I agree with your point, same as I agree with the Taylor-Chavez stoppage), the stoppage was poor. Crolla was clearly defending himself, had in fact just turned off the ropes to escape, had hurt Matthews earlier in the round - the referee was looking for a stoppage.

It was a bit of a **** stoppage but Crolla looked done to me....As daft as it is 10 seconds earlier when he fell against the ropes that technically could have been called a KD as the strings stopped him going down. That would have saved him.

Dftaylor... Crolla had just been punched across the ring. I agree the ref was looking for a stoppage. Crolla took a lot of heavy punches to the head. Mathews was picking him off with the uppercut. I think Crolla would have just taken more punishment so good stoppage and crolla can now come back fresher and not hurt too bad?

Balzsay stopped Sartison in the 12th, surprised by that.

James DeGale is trending on Twitter, whilst no fighter on the Crolla-Derry bill is.

That's not the criteria though - it's meant to be when a fighter fails to defend themselves. Not just that they look shattered. Derry looked ****ed a few times too.

You can't stop a fight every time a fighter lies on the ropes or goes into survival mode. It's become way too common place. If Crolla was just standing there, taking shots constantly and getting smashed up, I'd understand. But he was defending himself and had just gotten out of danger.

    Such a **** stoppage.

Maybe because their fight finished about half hour ago. Both Crolla and Derry were trending earlier :good

Although i understand the stoppage being early, i think tonight could be best thing to happen to Crolla boxing wise. Imagine if he did fight Burns...

I don't dislike Anselmo too much to be honest. I was a bit gutted he beat Sidorenko twice because I really like Wladimir despite some of his limitations but the massive hype that came his way after beating Vic was quite funny to be honest.

Him scraping past Cermeno twice and not really dominating Sidorenko as the styles suggested he should have still leaves the jury out on him for me to be honest. His style, as I said before the fight, was all wrong for Darchinyan and that's why it was such a decisive victory, though I have to say I was impressed at how good he was.

I'd actually pick Mares' awkward, pretty clumsy pressure fighting to beat him if they ever fought. Abner couldn't beat him off the back foot, where I think he's a much better fighter, due to Moreno's down right refusal to ever lead off but Cermeno showed that down right bullying and lunging pretty crudely can work in getting inside vs. him. Then if he could get up close, dominates him with his combinations and crisper punching.

Never seen De la Mora I'll admit but I've heard good things about him so wouldn't shock me at all to see Moreno's new found reputation plummet a bit after tonight :good.

    Me too :yep.

I don't care how he wins tonight to be honest just so long as he beats him up badly. I don't know if I'd prefer a brutal stoppage or a sustained 12 round pummeling. I can see the latter being more likely, not sure about Abner's power at super bantam. But Morel being naturaly smaller might negate that.

    "It's all over, it's over...IT'S ALL OVER!"

Are Buncey and Lillis staying on through the night?

Agreed but that statement only puts into stark relief the nonsense of the stoppage, crolla was just as able to defend himself as he was at any point. Which wasn't to any great degree but you know what I'm saying

Yes! Rakhim Chakhiev's fearsome title reign as WBC Baltic Crusierweight champion continues with a 1st round KO of ex-Contender Jaidon Codrington on the Balzay-Sartison undercard.

Nice result for my fantasy league team there. If Mares can win tonight, and pick up a belt at a new weight, I reckon I might be up there or thereabouts in the lead
