MAB was stopped by Jones in about the 5th.In the rematch,he put on a much better display of himself and went the distance.Had there been a 3rd,who knows?MAB embarrassed Hamed when Hamed was 27.Hamed fought once more and quit at 28,lmao.

Naseem should have carried on. I think he lost a bit of credibility in the grand scheme of things by just quitting straight after this fight. There is no shame in losing a fight, none at all, however the greatest of champs gave it another go at least.

NAz could not solve MAB and was schooled, i guess he was aware he will not beat any truly great fighters like Morales and just quit the game. Fact is he doesnt have truly great fighters on his resume just MAB who beat him convincingly so it doesnt look good for him that he quit just like that.
And it is stupid to say he was past his prime not fit or something like that, he wasnt old he did not gas at all he was just beaten by technically much better fighter!!!

Naz was a talented fighter and was fun to watch, but he did get handled by Barerra. Don't think it was that Naz was so overrated just more that he couldn't handle the style coupled with the skills that Barerra presented.

    Nope. You're wrong.

Jeff Lacey, humbled by Calzaghe - you can class him as a hypejob, he never lived up to what people expected of him (mini Tyson).

Hamed, humbled by Barrera - you can not class him as a hypejob, he lived up to what people (the rational fan) expected of him.

You need to stop listening to the fans who call Hamed an ATG, or a prime Hamed would have stopped Barrera, etc. It is making yourself irrational and you also come off as someone whose posts you can't take seriously on this subject anymore. Anytime a Hamed thread pops up in the general, you're there to slate Hamed as much as possible. I haven't actually seen you post in any other threads. :think

This is coming from a massive Hamed fan, my favourite boxer of All-Time in fact.

Naseem was not a hypejob.... he's just got a lot of haters because of his personality and ring walks. I liked watching him fight, but some of his antics were turn-offs.

That being said, he beat many good fighters, namely Kelley and Medina. He stopped pretty much everybody and showed good one-punch power for the lower weight classes.

He ran into a prime Barrera who had all the boxing skills in the world, and had the right gameplan and timing to school Naseem. Barrera completely exposed him.

Getting beaten by an ATG in his prime (Barrera) doesn't mean you're a hypejob.

I don't hate on Barrera cause he got blasted out of the ring by Junior Jones. Jones had the right game plan and the power to get him outta there.

1st off,I'm not wrong. All you have to do is read the Hamed fans on this thread alone to see that I'm 100% correct. You can't take my posts seriously anymore:lol:?Then why the hell are you reading them and responding to them:lol:?I need to stop listening to the fans that call Hamed an ATG:lol:,or prime Hamed would have stopped MAB?Why?They're the idiots that make all the excuses on these threads.Last count, there were NINE EXCUSES on why Hamed lost to Barrera.Just for shits and giggles,I made a thread awhile ago concerning those excuses that people put on these threads, and yes,the number was 9:lol:.Hamed is the EPITOMY of a hypejob. And you wrote it's making ME irrational:lol:?I respond to the hamed threads because there is something I call the monthly Hamed thread where his fans list said excuses for the Barrera loss:left Ingle,Allah wanted him to keep his 0 so the pressure was too great(yep, that was #9 and I read it on these boards with my own 2 eyes just a couple of months ago)etc,ad nauseum. And you call me irrational:lol:?At least you admit you're a massive Hamed fan so obviously you're biased. The rational boxing fan knows Hamed was an overrated hypejob by his legion of excusemakers.Just read next month's Hamed thread when the excuses come flying in as usual and think about how you called ME irrational:lol:.And btw,Jeff Lacey may have been a hypejob, but it must have been through the media because I'd never heard of him before the Calzaghe fight, and I paid attention to the fight only because of Calzaghe. As far as posting is concerned,I much prefer the Classic to the General.

1st,yes,Hamed was a hypejob.2nd,concerning Medina and Kelley, see contri 34 on this thread.Hamed's resume is pretty good at best.As far as Barrera and Jones are concerned, the 1st one ended in a stoppage and the 2nd went the distance with Barrera putting on a better account of himself. But as far as Hamed and Barrera are concerned,Hamed had quicker hands and was a bigger puncher, but had 0 technical skills whatsoever. All Barrera had to do was fight an intelligent, disciplined fight which he did.And of course Hamed had no answer for that.

There was a lot of selective matchmaking with Hamed, typical of most ****** fighters. The way he targeted name fighters on the slide was far from unusual, and was a good way to build a star. The issue wasn't that he faced these fighters at that time, it was that he didn't go on to put it on the line against Barrera or Morales, or even Espinosa. Barrera was considered to be slipping at the time they eventually met. Worst of the lot was that he ducked his mandatory (Marquez) for 2 years, which looks increasingly worse with the passing of time.

Personally I think Hamed had unlimited potential based on his early performances such as the Belcastro fight. Ultimately though it doesn't really matter, as he'll be judged on his accomplishments and nothing else. Breaking his career down objectively, he beat some good fighters, lost to a great one, and then retired. It is what it is.

Cracks me up how some people make out he was schooled by Barrera.

He wasn't schooled. He lost to the better man yes, but it wasn't a clinic by any stretch of the imagination.

9 rounds to 3 at worst.

Barrera winning his rounds big, while Hamed barely won his, Barrera making him look flat out stupid at times...Smashed his head against the ring post and then proceeded to give him a boxing lesson in that same round...

Sounds like a schooling to me. :hi:

Well, you're just backing up my point completely, probably without even knowing. Quick question, would you trust the opinion of a massive fan of a boxer who overrates their boxer in almost every thread? I'll actually answer that, no you would not. I don't either. These are the fans you're coming across who are making the excuses up, or are overrating Hamed.

The fans you should be listening to are the fans who rate him roughly, correctly. And there are fans on here that do just that. However, like I have said, you are so caught up in ripping Hamed and his delusional fans to pieces, that you again, are becoming irrational on the subject.

You responded to me, remember. I was being polite and answered back...IMO, correcting you on the subject.

    Again, my point exactly.

Well, not every fan of Hamed's is irrational. I claimed you have become irrational on the subject because you seem to do anything and everything to discredit his achievements. Even if someone puts up a decent argument. The fact that you call him a hypejob based on certain irrational fans opinions says this alone.

No fan of boxing is ever unbiased. That's nothing against me. Of course I am going to be a touch biased when it comes to certain boxers, basically because they are my preference. I at least try to rate them correctly.

Every boxer EVER is overrated, by at least the minority. You're speaking to the minority, and are being caught up in it.

There is a big, big difference between Lacey and Hamed. You may not be familiar with the comparison, which is fair enough, but if you was, you would find yourself a better definition of the word hypejob.

Outside of you saying Hamed was a hypejob and me saying he's not, you agreed with everything else I said.

I said he beat good fighters, not great fighters. I also said he knocked people out and had good one punch power. I never said he had good technical skills.

And I said he was schooled by Barrera who followed his gameplan and exposed him...... i.e. he showed much better boxing and technical skills than Hamed.

As far as Jones vs Barrera goes....... Barrera got KO'd brutally in the first fight and got beat in the rematch.

    So you made my point.
