    Top 15 barely.

He loses the Holyfield trilogy and he's not even top 20.

I agree that outside Holyfield twice there aren´t names good enough.....but even so:

-Dokes (I know, past prime...but he was decent yet....clearly not shot)
-Coetzer ( very good fighter, H2H would be tough against many)
-Tony Tubbs (close but Bowe won...against a great version of Tubbs)

Seldon, Thomas, Bert Cooper, Gonzalez, Hide....were all good names and very competitive fighters......

Doesn't make my top 15-20, but you could argue him as such depending how much you value his few noteworthy wins, namely the first Evander fight.

I think resume breaks down as such...

    Holyfield I

    Holyfield III

    Hide
Golota X2-He did win these fights though not very impressively, surviving and keeping the pressure on the mental Golota until he ****ed himself.

    Cooper
    Coetzer
    Mathis Jr
    Gonzales

The Dokes that fought Bowe was probably the worst heavyweight title challenger I have seen in 2 decades. He was completely out of it when he entered the ring.

Coetzer was fairly toothless, lacking any real power. Hell, Wimpy Halstead took him distance. He was tough as granite but had no real offense. Still, he didn't follow the script and Bowe resorted to lowblowing him into submission. It can be well argued that Coetzer never beat a world class heavyweight.

I am not exactly sure that "great" and "Tubbs" belong in the same sentence, but Bowe edged that one out on my card.

Okay, but we can say many things like that about others.......
How do you rate this in comparison with Liston´s resume ? There isn´t a disparity between both to me when we compare resumes.....

Yeah, Tubbs wasn´t great in nothing.....but I loved his performance, and even so Bowe edged that one IMO....

I think I have him around 15-20. You could argue the case that he could beat most heavyweights prime for prime, includng Tyson, Frazier, Holyfield, Louis and a few more but I'd pick Foreman, Ali, Lewis and Holmes to beat him.

At best he just scrapes in to my top 15. His resume simply lacks the depth to rank him any higher.

    Around 15th.

I tend to overrate him sometimes because I like Holyfield. :conf

Even she, bless her soul, knows Liston ranks higher than Bowe.

:nut I would believe that if you had another ESB ID...reading some of your posts, I think you have a more informed opinion (even if you chose not to share it)...I was just curious still am. I have gone back and forth on Liston (not so much in regards to Bowe as his overall placement...Kinda like Johnson/demspey/marciano and a few others).
