If Williams fought like that most would not beat him. With his reach (his reach is beyond ridiculous), stamina, and pop WHEN HE ACTUALLY SITS DOWN ON HIS PUNCHES, he would be very very difficult to beat. But he doesn't fight like that, does he? He fights reckless, he fights like he is a short man, he stands straight up in range to be hit, has not defense... Mayweather would dominate Williams, he would put on a boxing expedition.

Williams from 2003 would mayweather on a points win

But he could have a easyer time with him if he boxed tall and used his reach mayweather would struggle to get in close. Plus mayweather would never take that fight

Oh I misunderstood the question. I thought the question was who would have more problems with Williams.

I think Manny would give Floyd more problems than Paul. I'm not confident on a pick until I see him against Bradley.

i know this is somewhat unrelated, and i apologize for going off on a tangent. but does anyone find that p will is not near as accurate a puncher as he was some years ago? in my opinion against martinez, lara, and even ishida, he looked like he had some difficulty landing effectively, where as years ago, he looked much sharper.

If Paul fought with his height, he'd beat everyone 160 and down. Unfortunately, he doesn't. He has leaky defense and inaccurate punches. Floyd won't stop him, but he'll likely Baldomir him with less movement.

Exactly. Being knocked out just once is enough for anyone to be labeled "glass jawed" by some of the glass jawed idiots who post here.

This glass jaw talk is ridiculous.

With the clean shots he took in MartinezI and the clean shots he took from Lara the entire night, there is no doubt he can take shots from Floyd. And unlike a lot of others, he has the workrate and stamina to be after Floyd THE ENTIRE 12 ROUNDS.

Not saying whether he would win or not, obviously Floyd would be favored, but I thin khe would be more competitive and interesting than Pac. Not only is he a swarmer, but he is a 6'2" left handed swarmer with a good chin and the best stamina in the game.

This talk about Ndou is ridiculous. Ndou and Williams are completely different fighters. Paul is 10 times the infighter, and is much more relentless. Margarito is probably the only fighter today that compares to his relentless aggressive style.

Williams, obviously. Pacquiao gets frustrated too easily and with a ring master in Floyd his average punch output would drop dramatically. Floyd would kick his ass and he and his team knows it that's why they are bs'ing so much. Williams comes forward no matter what at the same pace for 12 rds. Floyd beats him by UD/late rds ko but it would be a good fight while it lasted.

Pre Sergio Williams had a very good chance. Southpaw, a menace both short and long range, volume puncher, and iron chinned with great stamina this would not be a walk in the park. What Lara beat were basically Sergios leftovers. People not only forget how avoided he was, but how underrated his power could be and his one round annihilation of Quintana in the rematch. If Williams eventually does get anywhere close to his old form if I was any of his opponents 154-160 I'd worry.

    Lara beats Pacquiao also :hey

true. Williams doesn't get as discouraged as Pacquiao. Even if he's getting schooled and beat up, he'll keep his intensity up for the full 12 rounds.

    Maybe for a little while.
Until he gets hit on the chin.
It will never be the same.

The good (and ultimately bad) thing about P is that he doesn't really know but one speed, and that's straight-forward full speed ahead. He always fights as if he's way down on the cardsn even when he's not. (Ishida, Winky, etc.) And even if he's getting the worst of it, he'll keep coming forward full speed ahead... So regardless of what is transpiring during the fight, Floyd is going to have to keep Paul off his ass the entire fight.

Floyd has excelent stamina, but he has never fought anyone with the height, workrate, or stamina of Paul. Like I said before, May would be rightfully favored, but the fight would be interesting.
