I can't remember exactly who it was or where I heard it, I think it was one of his sparring partners. He said it's a lie, Floyd watches an unreal amount of tape.

Probably just says he doesn't to add a bit of aura.

Might not study tapes but he definatly watches current fights.

For example...with talk of maybe facing Martinez in the near future he would have watched Martinez vs Macklin last month.

    PBF watches fights.
I don't think he "studies" as in repeated viewing. His boxing IQ is so high and his toolset is so large that he can pretty much envision what he needs to do. And if that does not work, he smart enough to come up with something that is enough to win.

Plus his style is defense oriented that he is not really looking to TKO an opponent. He just needs to make the opponent miss. The tools to make opponent whiff with his right hand will be pretty much be the same toolset for opponent B.

So high ring IQ + defensive boxing style = win and less need to "study" opponent

I dont believe it for one second.

Just think.... A master of the game like mayweather not at least watching ONE video of his opponent.

He may not watch and study them for days, but there is no way he doesnt watch at least a few of his opponents fights.

I think he does study them, but considering he approaches most fights the same way aka straight right, left hook, jab to the body and make his opponent miss all the time it would be understandable if he didn't

He definitely attends his opponents fights, and pretty much sees how he will handle them.

Whether he actually studies video tapes...who knows.

The man is a gym rat who prides himself on his preparation. I have no doubt that Floyd studies other fighters. I would be shocked if he didn't own a huge fight library.

He probably has his own way of breaking them down and he might not like to discuss exactly what he looks for, but he studies.

if you believe what Floyd says they he already has you....that dude is so smart convincing people of crap. I bet that he watches tapes of his opponents on a big ass screen in HD, with surround sound, with slow motion and unlimited capabilities, just like he likes it. Again if you believe all he said then you dont know his game.
